Latigo Canyon - PCH - Neptune's Net Run
Latigo Canyon - PCH - Neptunes Net Run
This should be a very fun run. Latigo Canyon has been described as one of the best damn motorcycle rides in California. Our Z's should enjoy the exercise.
Meet at Yankee Doodles Woodland Hills in the morning, travel down Kanan Road. Drive down Latigo Canyon. This should be a long, twisty drive. Make a pitstop at the Rockstore before hitting the PCH. Drive up north to Neptune's Net (of Fast and Furious fame) for lunch in Oxnard.

Rockstore Pitstop.

From Oxnard we can either come back on the 101 or return via the PCH and finish up for some drinks at a yet to be designated location.
I'm looking for input on meet times and for participation. Right now I'm looking at March 8, 9, 15 or 16, 2003. Meet times of 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. will probably work best.

I'm in, whatever day, whatever time. I just drove Latigo canyon on saturday (driven it once before that). It's a crazy stretch of road. For those of you who haven't driven it, it's not for the timid. VERY sharp turns, lots of blind corners. Make sure your brakes, and tires are up to snuff, this road is no joke.

I think I'm in. Honestly the 23rd would work better for me than the 16th, but hey, I'm flexible. Also, since this is on the northern edge of ... well ... everybody, I'd say the later we can make the meeting time the better - I liked the plan for the OC meet - get together at 10:00 and leave for the drive at 10:30.

The 22 or 23 works well also;
I hope Latigo canyon's as much of a challenge as you say it is
My brakes are up to full capacity again, new pads and resurfaced rotors. Jesus, I'm going through brakes like freaking crazy
pads every 3k! Sheeza!

Oh well, the later it is from now, the better.
The more time in between now and then, the more time I have to try and scrape together 300 dollars for my front KYB shocks that I keep trying to get, but keeping only $50 a week it's gonna be hard
anyways,
L28E, out.

Guess you can't please everyone. one thing I have learned in event planning. Pick a date and place and stick with it. Only reason to deviate from it if there is overwhelming opposition and acts of God. which

Well I'm in, but I do agree with Dave about meeting up at a spot and then go from there. Reason for me, I have never been there, but sounds like a great ride!

Let's just preliminarily do it for the 22nd or 23rd, since that's what people seem to like (sorry jeffa).
and i don't know exactly where latigo is either, so meeting in a designated spot (hopefully somewhere close to a freeway) would make it easier for everybody, esp'lly the OC people.

If you go to my first post, you will find a link for Latigo Canyon that shows the route. Kanan Dune road is a little west of Woodland Hills in the Hidden Hills/Calabasas area. I was thinking of meeting at Yankee Doodles but perhaps a location closer to a freeway onramp would be better.
There is a Starbucks on Ventura Blvd. and Topanga that is close to a freeway on ramp. It's probably an ideal spot for those that need that morning cup of coffee. Additionally, there should be plenty of parking.
Date:
March 23, 2003
Time:
10:00 a.m. 10:30 a.m. departure
Location:
StarBucks Coffee Shop

Woodland Hills, CA 91367

We'll meet up in the morning, drive down Kanan road to Latigo Canyon, stop off at the Rockstore. Ending up on PCH, we'll take it all the way north up to Neptune's Net and have lunch there. On the way back, we can head back to Yankee Doodles for drinks, pool etc. Or, perhaps we can do another Caynon run after lunch.
Any suggestions welcome.

Make sure to bring birthday presents for me cause my birthday is Mar. 30! I expect genuine Nismo parts from everyone
Anyways, I'd say Sunday works better than Saturday (less people on the roads, nothing else better to do now that football season is over). Hopefully I might have my new nismo lookin wing by the 23rd.
