You'd think so, but not so true. Buddy of mine just won one yesterday by mail. I was skeptical as well, but he just proved me wrong.

trial by declaration is part of the game. if u lose u still can fight it in the court afterwards. the longer u stall the better chance u'll have. who knows, by the time u reach ur court date which is 3~4 months down the road.....the cop might be busy due to his wife is having a baby or something else

Damn Danny, Im sorry to hear that!

For those out of state - yes, speeding even one mile is breaking the law..... But over here - cops dont even drive 65 (avg limit on fwys). The average CA driver does about 75-80. The average police officer/hwy patrolmen do about 80-90.

Good luck fighting this dude!!

exactly, trial by declaration is a gimme. If you lose, you still can go to court and fight it.

You got screwed on this one man. I know that they can't prove anything within 5 miles, but I am not sure about 7 miles over

Punk *** cops! Good luck on your fight dude. 72 is just ridiculous. I thought my "illegal left turn" on 8th street in K town at 6:57 pm when you can't until 7 pm was bad. If you're not doing 75+ in LA, there's something wrong with you and you'll get high-beamed. Haa.

old people drive faster than 72 here in san diego (exaggerating a bit)

point is.. people will pass by you all the time if you drive by the limit here. I personally cruise @ 80 just to be safe. Always look at your mirror and try to recognize popo headlights, I've learned to recognize those victorias. No tickets =] oh, if you want to be safer.. get a detector

I always thought the only way to get pulled over on the freeway is if your changing lanes constantly and abruptly. Traffic school instructor advised us that it is easier for CHP to see that your speeding if your switching lanes (draws more attention to yourself). I've been following this advice and have found it to be useful so far.

In your case you were just at the wrong place at the wrong time in regards to that specific CHP. The rate you were going is more than the norm here in california. I would of probably been doing close to 80 or so if the freeway was clear enough. You just have to take extra precaution when your driving your Z expecially when you have modified the exterior.

Only time I got pulled over on the freeway was in my 91 Honda Civic hatchback (EF9SIR) and thats because I was listening to some AFI song that got me thinking I needed to drive fast for no reason. lol

Damn 7 over the limit is rediculous!! Maybe just bad luck you met a gay cop.

Iono what other states are like...but like beb said majority of the socal drivers go at least 5-10 above speed limit and don't get tickets, I never go under the speed limit and havn't got any tickets.............yet.
