Default Has anyone used a flatbed to haul their Z?

I'm moving up to the Bay and I'm planning to do it myself by renting a U-Haul, and putting a flatbed behind it to tow my Z.

Is the Z too low to be put on the flatbed?

Anyone else have experience putting their Z on a flatbed?

Should I just make two trips and drive my Z up there?

How do you think people take their racecars to the track? Worst case scenario is that you'll need a set of planks to get the car up on the ramps to avoid scraping the underside of the nose - but that's about it. My Z was about 1.5" lower and I had no problem getting it on my trailer.

I have, if your car is lowered, make sure someone pulls up on the fenders to prevent the bottom of the front bumper from scratching

As others stated...just use a piece of wood on each side to avoid scraping the bumper. Same as your mechanic would use to get your car on the lift.

for the front of the UHAUL tow, you'd have to probably detach the metal stoppers at the end depending how low your car is and you would need some sort of ramp or planks to get up.. i used metal 45 lb. weights which sometimes shot out so becareful

but yes it can be done

hey Boneout, how do you like that Z71, as far as towing capacity? with the Z and the trailer, do you have enough? too much? wish you had more? i'm lookin' for a reliable rig to tow my ride around to the track. any suggestions would be very helpful!

I pull my enclosed trailer with my V8 Touareg. The best part is it pulls it no problem, but it is all luxury the rest of the time....very nice ride!

One trick to loading a lowered car is to use opening of a driveway. You should be able to manuever the trailer into a position that allows the trailer to actually be lower which allows the car to get up much easier.

^That's a great tip! I guess it only comes with experience.

armada's a perfect candidate we used one to tow my brother's supra before, but like rick we had to take the bumper off this time because it was hella low

+1 that is sage advice.

my front bumper is bout an inch and a half off the ground, couldnt get it up on a flatbed without scraping but with a decently inclined driveway, it got up perfectly.

Nothing annoys me more than "hey bra"... "hella" and "hecka" are a close 2nd and 3rd.

I guess I'm just a purist when it comes to grammar and the English language...
