Default Lmao @ Wcn..

Just called the service dept. to get a quote for a spring install... The guy gave me a "rough" estimate of about $700 as it would be a 6 hr job, and he was sure to add that this is BEFORE the alignment...

I said, "WOW, that is REALLY rough!" and hung up..

The funny thing is, this is after i got a quote for $190 for the install from another shop and thought that was too much and decided to call WCN...

What the heck is happening with this place????

Send Rick at Status a PM. He did mine originally for a lot cheaper than that. Was in and out of Status in an hour.

the manual that all the shops use states its a 6 hour job. My friend owns a body shop and we did my s2000 springs there once (for free). I called him to ask if we could do the same to the Z and he looked it up in the book and it stated 6 hours. He looked up the s2000 and it stated 2 hrs. Dont know why they say 6 hrs for the Z because it was basically the same exact thing.

There is a good "Do it Yourself" guide on here. Did mine myself and saved.

First rear side took an hour, the second took 20 minutes.

First front side took 2 1/2 hours, second side took 40 minutes.

On topic, WCN quoted me 400 when I asked a month ago

WCN is cool, but dealership prices nonetheless.

What happened when that other shop called WCN?

Damn even $386 is too much. Do them yourself and keep the money for other mods.

haha yea they are a great dealership but there install prices are outta this world.

I called to get a quote on installing Nismo LSD (you dont need the axle stubs, its a direct swap) on my base model and they wanted some ungodly amount.

Spring compresors are usually a free rental at most auto shops, like kragen and auto zone ect. and it's a real easy thing to do. but I'f you dont want to hassle with the compresors, (which you only need in the front) you can take the whole spring/shock assembly off and take them to a mechanic, and have him swap out the springs, it takes no time. and just do a simple install.

all dealerships base labor rates off of what the warranty book pays.
6 hrs should also include an alignment though, but this is common with all dealerships including us at Riverside Infiniti. Some things are not worth getting done at a dealership, even though you get the certified and trained techs. Other things are really ideal.

Where did you hear this? For the nismo diff only the ones that come with the VLSD have 1 matching stub but you still need one of them. For the Base you need both stubs to put them in. Trust me I had the nismo installed in my base. The quaife and carbonetics however are direct swaps into the base model.

I went to Corner 3 Garage in Lake Forest and they charged me for around 2.5 hours for my coilovers even though it took them around 4 or 5

Wow, that's more than the ridiculous quotes I got for the Viper. Ended up doing it myself and going back to the dealership and letting them know that I did it in less time on jackstands and with hand tools than they said it takes with a lift and air tools.

I went down the street to a local tire place and they swapped the springs on the shocks for $20 each with the spring compressor.
