Default Any San Diego Workshop Get togethers?

Hey guys/gals,

I haven't seen any workshop get togethers since I've been on the boards lately and was wondering if any of the local San Diego guys are interested. We did this quite a bit in Las Vegas were we all went to someones garage and worked on the cars. I've done quite a bit of suspension and brake work on Z's and G35's when I was in the NV350Z club and if anyone needs help let me know (I don't charge for work....well....maybe beer). I see a lot of people wanting to install/remove parts; just no where to do it. Just thought I throw it out there. It's a good time for everyone to get together and learn how to work on the car.

I'd be down for this and to help out as well, time permitting. I used to hold meets like this all the time back in houston. I've done just about everything short of an FI install or engine internals work on my and various other people's cars (oh, and headers... I don't do headers; they make me cuss too much). I get paid in beer as well.

If anyone has a garage i will come help too...we did this back in GA and alot of people got a lot of stuff done. It was cool to meet everyone and see atleast 10 Z/G'sget something done. We lowered cars, exhausts, wheels, all kinds of stuff. I wish i had money for parts now....

Well I have a pretty large garage (granted if I cleaned the damn thing and got rid of the rest of my moving boxes). I have some miscellaneous tools, jack stands and a low-profile 4-ton jack. Just need to find out who in the forums has stuff they want to install and go from there.

agreed...down to lend a hand and wish I had some cash to lay down on suspension so we'd have something to work on.

I have a set of Cusco A-arms waiting to be installed. I was going to wait until I got tires (since the fronts are already worn unevenly and there's no fixing it now), but this might be a chance to put one of these workshops together.

I have a 3-car garage and plenty of room. I hear it's a pretty simple install.

^^Sure....just got to find someone who needs something installed/un-installed. All I've got is a set of new headlamps to install. Does anyone need some springs, sway, camber arms, etc., installed?

Yeah I think I might have a big rubber mallet for this. I did a G35 coupe not too long ago; the toe and camber arms were a ***** to get off and get the new ones in.

^ those are pretty serious installs. Time consuming, labor intensive and best to have a lift (especially for the clutch/flywheel). Not sure those're shadetree mechanic jobs.

Yeah this is better to do in a well-equipped shop that has a lift and a transmission jack of which I have neither.

I just remembered I have some Goodridge SS brake lines I need to put on and I have a one-man brake bleeding pump. I just haven't had the time nor the patience to do it.

So we still need a time and a place, but here is what we have:

DVFlyer - Cusco A-Arms install
pimpin714style - Rear camber arms install
Zrolimit - Stainless Steel brake line install; and possibly headlamps if they return quick enough from painting.
