Hey,
It's been so long since I've been on here and to the meets. Sorry, my car is at Pacific Nissan Body Repair since last week. I got in an accident Monday of last week. Rear tire hydroplaned and the car drifted and I was able to keep it drifting sideways straight for a while and then it dodged one lane to the left an hit the rear tires of an 18 wheeler. The left of my car is damaged. The end result is $7000 in repair and at least 2.5 weeks in the shop.
Link to my accident pictures on my server
I'll probably be getting some Axis MOD 20x9 & 20x10's with 255/35 and 285/30 in a month or two. If not, I might go with some Axis Hero 19x8.5 or 19x9.5 & 19x10.5. I don't want this to happen again. It just sux without a car for so long...
OK I'm done...

Guys,
Wow....I have a lot to learn....I really appreciate the help.....now I just wonder if I shouldn't go turbo....I have always liked sc's better, but I don't know anymore....But.............anyone interested in helping to design a dual sc Z....I would be happy then....vortech or otherwise....wonder how that would work....any ideas Chad...could it even be done on our car...I saw it done on a Ferrari 360....why can't we do it??? Anyway food for thought...thanks guys....

ZXTREME ... I feel for you man. That's a huge repair bill, even though the rest of the car looks untouched. Glad you're okay.

dual SCs would pose no added benefit on this car at any boost level below the stock 8psi ... even after that who knows.
however, it would REDUCE low end power by adding more parasitic drag on the motor (like the opposite of underdrive pulleys) .... you are taking a step in the wrong direction.
all in all (not in the end) , it would add more clutter, more noise, and less power with a higher purchase price... not really my idea of a good investment
fred ... my only experiences with Vortech have been with the A, S (V1 + now V2), YS and YSi trim blowers (all on 302 based motors).... that pretty much sums em all up
Essentially stock for stock the ATI and Vortech blowers should be equally reliable ... but when you start to change out pulleys and even overspin the HU Vortech's reliability shows through

you guys are absolutely correct. not only is there no room, but the mechanical linkage to get everything in there would be a nightmare. there really is no benefit. boost + boost does not equal 2X boost. if you are running them both at 8 psi, you don't get 16psi at the manifold...you get 8. it would be the same as 1 blower.

Possible stupid question....then how do they fit in the twin turbo?????
Secondly and don't get me wrong you all seem very knowledgeable....and not that I would have ever done it....put aside the physical limitations....you say there is no added performance....then why the heck did they do it to a 360 Modena??? I will have to bring the article to the next meet....if I can find it.....
Also I think Tre has a question on the table....
again thanks for all the info...I guess when the student is ready the teacher will appear....or in this case the teachers....

twin turbos are put where the headers ususally are .... they replace them with new manifolds and turbos .... so they fit in there .... not easily though
the turbos are driven by the exhaust of the car, so they can be placed "anywhere" kind of .. as long as you can get the hot exhaust to them ....whereas a SC needs to be turned mechanically by a belt, chain or whatever .... so it has to be "in line" with the front of the engine where the pulleys are.
they dual sc'd a ferrari probably because they could and it cost more![Wink](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Tre ... I dont even know the offsets of my own wheels .... good luck with that

Anybody interested in caravaning up to the Z meet and canyon run in Irvine this Sunday? Looks like 25 signed up but you know how that is. I haven't had the Z out for 3 weeks and this sounds like a fun ride.
