Working on figuring this out. Got your e-mailed pictures...what is the length of the toe arm that you feel is a traction rod?

I believe it is 5-7 inches too short. And that is even at full extension. Look at the eBay number I gave you. It is that one. Or even any of the pictures showing the rear suspension with the toe arm you can see the difference in length.

Here's all I got so far:

eBay search for "350Z Toe Arms":

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...All-Categories

eBay search for "350Z Traction Rods":

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=...at=0&_from=R40

Differences?

I need measurements...I can't prove or dis-prove much without them...

You can still install the coilovers without changing out the bucket to a toe arm. It will just be an empty spring bucket. Then when you get the toe arms you can delete the bucket.

Every other competitor out there is selling the same thing we are selling, toe arms, that some here tell me are actually traction rods. Is every company wrong about what they are selling? Since we, and other companies, have been selling these toe arms for years, it makes me wonder, if they aren't toe arms, where the heck have customers been installing these on their car...and why have we not heard complaints before?

I am just trying to figure this out the same as everyone else here. I want to make everyone happy (I know, trying to please everyone is a recipe for failure...according to Mark Twain ), but let me do the best I can anyway...

...still working on "winning".

I now have a measurement (Thanks, James aka supraturboman)...19" is what I'm told the length of a spring bucket arm is...so a toe arm needs to be around this long...with room for the adjustable part of the part.

This is true, but I understand that ya'll want the adjustable toe arms instead.

Talked to supraturboman....Seems very unpleased. George Basically saying, too bad, you got what you got....Please figure this situation out. I`ll be installing mine tomorrow and really dont want this to happen to me...I paid for a toe arm to replace the spring bucke... This is not what i got either, along with supraturbo.
Where did you get this from supraturboman??? He & I have talked on the phone...he is amicable and working with me on this...he does not come off as "very un-pleased". Ya'll ask him yourself. James, if you are "very un-pleased", then say so. I am doing the best I can in solving this.

Howard: I AM NOT saying "too bad, you got what you got"!!! Ask ANYONE if that is my attitude...

This is taking "days" because we, and our competitors, have been selling these toe arms for years without issue, so we're momentarily stumped...but I assure you we will do what is "right" no matter what the situation.

Honestly, I am not going to lash-out and bash back, but it does kind of seem that you are trying to stir up a "lynch-mob" mentality approach against Top Speed and myself in this. It's always a "WTF...they're jacking us around...WTF???" Geez, calm down and let me work at solving this...

Spring bucket is roughly 19.5 inches long and the arm you sent`maxed out` which is unsafe is 15.5 inches.

The only thing that should be done is send out the right piece, period.

this is a pic of what you sent...

Taking our own measurement of all the parts, the ones we sent out against the ones that supraturboman is referencing below...will post pics shortly...

THESE that James found, and you both want, are exactly the same length...see new picture below...they are the top one pictured.

Thank you for your support. I'm not bashing on Howard here, I just understand that he is a person with a great sense of urgency about his life.

Now, here's what I have...

In the picture, starting from the bottom, we have our rear adjustable camber arm, in the middle is our adjustable rear toe arm (that James and Howard received)...at the top we have the Hard Race (made for Top Speed) rear adjustable toe arm...that is referenced above in an eBay listing as a Top Speed part and being sold be "factorydparts". We are also offering this exact same item here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-350Z-...#ht_719wt_1004

The angle of that particular picture gives the illusion that they are longer...they are not longer than the part that I sent James & Howard...as noted by the tape measure in the photo.

Now.....(drum roll, please), THE ANSWER to this whole mix-up:

A spring bucket arm IS NOT the same thing as a toe arm!!! The toe arm is what is being mis-referred to as a traction rod.

What proof? How about we look at a blog post from none other than Stillen ...an expert in the field of Z car performance!

Go here to read & view:

http://blog.stillen.com/installation...-installation/

Anyone can very plainly see that what James and Howard are calling a traction rod is being (correctly) called what is really is...a toe arm...by Z car expert Stillen!

NEXT question....

.

This is incorrect George. The traction arm CAN affect the toe, but it is not the proper adjustment point. The toe on the 350Z is properly adjusted at the toe bolt/eccentric washer that is the inner mounting point for the spring bucket.

In effect, an adjustable toe arm for the Z would be the spring bucket delete arm.

EVERYONE CALM DOWN...lol...

ALLSTARE4 is EXACTLY right!

please read and review my SUSPENSION 101 thread:
https://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-...ion-101-a.html

REVIEW THIS NISSAN TERMINOLOGY FOR THE 3 REAR ARMS from post 2 on my 101 thread on the 350z:

I made sure to DEFINE what went WHERE and WHAT DOES WHAT at the very beginning of my thread to aid in avoiding confusions like this.

ITEMS # - COLOR - NISSAN TERMINOLOGY - AKA -
21 - GREEN - REAR LOWER LINK - AKA, SPRING BUCKET
22 - BLUE - FRONT LOWER LINK - AKA, CAMBER ARM
23 - RED - RADIUS ROD - AKA, ALL KINDS OF JACKED UP NAMES BY VENDORS!! aka toe arms, aka traction/toe arms, aka, ive seen tons of rediculuos names for item 23.

I'm not saying top speed only, but nearly ALL VENDORS in general "***** nilly" naming these arms however they want.

-FACTS -
TOE ADJUSTMENT:

The Nissan factory toe adjustment point is at the sub frame mount point of the (21) "spring bucket", by turning the factory eccentric washer bolts

AFTERMARKET TOE ADJUSTMENT:
- one option is to buy a TOE ADJUSMENT ARM - ie, spring bucket delete arm and essentially still adjust the cars toe at the same point A to B location!!!

CAMBER ADJUSTMENT:
The Nissan factory camber adjustment point is at the sub frame mount point of the (22) "camber arm", by turning the factory eccentric washer bolts.

AFTERMARKET CAMBER ADJUSTMENT:
- purchase a camber arm! most figured this part out!

dun dun dun....now here is the clincher:
23 - RADIUS ROD:

YES, if you buy an adjustable radius rod, toe and camber will change at the same time!!!! - as you turn the adjustment, but this is the WRONG point to adjust TOE and camber...duh..

READ my suspension 101 thread for full details on reasoning why!!
