I have had my airbag light blinking now for two weeks and was wondering if there is anything i can do before i bring it into the dealer. i have tried this process....

1. Turn ignition switch from OFF to ON.
2. Air Bag warning lamp is on for 7 seconds and turns off, the turn ignition switch OFF within 1 second after the lamp turn off.
3. After ignition switch is turned OFF, wait for more than 3 seconds.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 twice. (Perform 3 times in total.)
5. Turn Ignition switch ON.
6. The SRS lamp has been reset it.

However it has not worked out for me. My car is a 2004 Z track model with side and side curtain airbags. My warranty is over and I don't want to spend a crap load to fix this. Can someone help me out.

 

try resetting your ecu.. unplug your batt for 24 hours... did you do anyhting to your car? remove anyhting? add anything?

 

no i didn't add anything to the car. i already tried resetting the ecu, but the light is still on. all i remember is that i was driving around 40 mph and the light all of a sudden came on and hasn't stop yet

 

Turn on the car and does it Blink on for 7 sec. and off once and then blinks 5 sec on and 1 sec off over and over?Then you have a hard failure. If this is the case only the dealer can fix.

 

i'm not quite sure what you are saying, but when i turn on the car, it does not blink til like 7 seconds later. then it still continues to blink until i turn off the engine. i'm going to champion nissan on tuesday to see if they can fix it, also they are doing my fuel line recall.

 

I am having the samething happening. I was just driving along and the airbag light just started to blink. I have a 2004 touring model 5AT. Im going to see if the error message comes up on my odb2 scanner when i get home tonight. If not its off to the dealer i go. I a little over 34,000miles.
Relentless23 sounds like we both have the same proplem. When i take mine in for the airbag, im also doing the fuel line recall.

 

Relentless23, did you get it to the deal? what did they tell you what it was?

 

yeah i took it to champion nissan in katy and, they quoted me $88 just for the diagnostic. i didn't do the diagnostic but they said it could be a bunch of things making the srs go off. faulty airbag sensor, etc. they did say that if the cause is b/c of the seatbelt, i wouldn't have to pay anything. but they said it could cost a couple hundered dollars. not only that, i just now realized i have the tire feathering problems. man everything is going wrong with my car.

i heard for the feathering, they extended the warranty to 36 months and unlimitted miles. where did you guys go to correct the feathering?? My car's warranty has passed. I have a 04 track with 40000 miles. also does anyone know where i can get a nismo exhaust for a good price. thanks

 

hey I just had my driver airbag replaced and when they replaced it it takes I think 3 sensors (modules) anyway my light would flash I would take it up their and they would reset it be ok till I drove home killed the car and as soon as I started the car it would flash long story short one of the modules was bad so it had to be replaced.
