Default For you guys with the rev-up motor....

...have any of you experienced an oil consumption problem and if so, did a dealership in DFW verify the problem? how was the problem resolved? i am just curious b/c I may have this issue that so many rev-up motors have. i know there is a gazillion threads about this but i am just wanting to know if there is anybody local, or in all of texas, has had this problem and how it was resolved...

**edit---maybe its up-rev motor. eh, dont care, its too early :-/

It's rev-up. UpRev is a tuning shop based in Austin, TX.

I haven't heard of anybody in TX with oil consumption, really, but I do recall reading that a member "creed" thought his Z was consuming oil not too long ago.

i/ve got an oil consumption problem but after researching all the i have on this forum, i've given up trying to fix it. I 've come to the realization that is just the way nissan made this motor. and probably due to the fact that i ran synthetic starting after my first oil change, which i have now realized is a big no no no no no.
I've since changed back to using regular non-synthetic oil (Castrol) still burning oil about 2 quarts every oil change, but she runs fine. as long as you dont run it dry your good.

...you mean to tell me that my Non-Rev-up 'O4 Touring Coupe's engine IS actually less
problem-prone than the Rev-up one??? A-L-R-I-G-H-T!!! NO WONDER I'm STILL in love with the puppy after 8 months of owning it!!! When I got it, it had just 13k on it, & had
that new-car scent! Paid $2O,5OO for it (Zeds are v-e-r-y expensive down here, guys!)
NO feathering, either! I'm starting to believe I struck gold--more like THE mother lode!!!--
when I bought it! NO oil-consumption issues, NO overheating problem, man, I'm keeping
it for as long as God allows!!! Just 287hp/274ftlbs torque, but, for my age (59), THAT'S
S-W-E-E-T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

j.arnaldo, the 03-05's (non-revups) don't have oil consumption issues. Only the 03-04.5 have feathering issues, tranny problems, axle click, etc. There are 04.5+ that claim the same problems, but are in much smaller numbers.
