I plan on getting there around 9. Told Jake I would do the polishing on his truck then and hang with you guys and help as needed. Then we are going to tackle the HFC's on Sunday.

 

They ended up saying they wouldn't install used HFC's and also couldn't even do any of the welding I wanted. Something about it needing to be TIG welded. I was out there ASAP after that. I did get a good look around while it was up on the lift though.

I find it strange because they kept saying the FDA would come and check to see that they had the cats and they needed them for 15 days just in case. Then I could BUY them back for $60, or maybe $120 for both, and apparently otherwise they would resell them. The more I think about it now, the more messed up it sounds.

 

Just read some stuff from the EPA, and the part about keeping it for 15 days is legit. Still not sure about the selling it back part though. I guess they are just super strict about following the law. It just seems that if I bring in the new cats and take away the old cats, there's no trail for an inspector to follow.

I just went to autozone and got the free o2 sensor tool rental when I did mines. The location is a ridiculous PITA. When I did mines on the Z the main thing was extra long extensions + wobble sockets.

 

There will be a 2nd Momentum Turbo Charged Z running around DFW in a few weeks.
