Haha yeah, I gave up way too easily yesterday. And I really want to get them on soon, plus saving money is nice. Just not sure about what I can do with the O2 sensors, I don't have the open socket.

You dont need one sir...22MM like this one

Passenger side will be easy to take off...leave the driver side on with the cat.. while the cat off the car you will have a better angle to get the O2 sensor off broski...

Dammit, my GtSpec brace strikes again!

Got everything loosened, header bolts, y pipe bolts, cat brace bolt, but I can't get to the cat brace mounting bolts to have room to slide the cat down off the header bolts.

That thing gets in the way all the time! Just gonna have to come to you Jake. At least I can do everything up until that point.

Just need something like this:

I have a set of those lol. I got them as a gift a few months ago. Jake is definately right though. The ones you have pictured are kind of cheap. Definately invest in the better quality ones that Jake has pictured.

They would need to be have that bend though to get to the bolts. Can always just remove the GTspec brace though. Oh and did you want to do it Sunday morning or evening?

If you guys haven't done any road course events, do it ASAP! I went to my first real track event and that **** was so much fun. I passed a few M3s, Viper, and a few other fast cars, but we were all in the "novice" group. Too bad my car ended up like this and was left at GRD before I could use up all my track time.

Basically, my camber arm snapped in half while I was on the course (had a passenger also). It could've ended so much worse, but I was able to safely get my car off the track before things went south. I ended up being passed by everybody I passed earlier and lost about 50 min of track time.

I have a TQ wrench. The problem for me is just getting to bolts that are both recessed, and covered from the top. More or less impossible to get at. It's one of things where I can keep trying to get at it and eventually I will get it done, but I'm running out of time.

I know if I didn't have the GTSpec brace I would have HFC's on right now, because I had everything loosened up, except I couldn't get the cat brace off.

It's these two bolts in the top middle. They have a bar right over them:

Here is the brace on an FX, but now it's that bottom bar:

Fuggin' sucks. That thing has gotten in the way so many times. I'm scared to ever take it off because I actually had to go to Travis way back when to get it put on.

What Camber arm did you have ? Stock or aftermarket ?

Emad, Jake, and 3 others are gonna track the cars at Cresson, TX....Motorsport ranch this Oct. We just signed up after an AutoX event that the BMW chapter hosted. They announced that they would be doing this event and new people would be welcomed. So we have about 5 of us going down to the track. I am looking really forward to it.

Sorry to hear that your track time was compromised....bet you still had a blast !

I still had 90 minutes of fun. It felt good to be on top, even if I was in the beginner's class.

When I got these rear camber arms, I had ordered the eBay one. It lasted me for a good while (3 or 4 years), but today I was losing tire pressure in my rear right which meant more traction (285mm R-S3) ultimately leading to the camber arm breaking. This is completely my fault and I probably shouldn't have even been pushing the car too much knowing all this. Good thing I wasn't punished too severely for my irresponsible thinking. I was planning on fixing that anyway as it's been creaking for years now. In the end, it's going to cost me several bills for the towing, replacing the part, fixing the tire leak, and alignment, all of which will be done at GRD.

I know Jason carries spare camber arms and other parts to events for situations like that. Granted, he trailers his Z, which most of us don't do. Even still, spare parts to get on the road to the house are life savers sometimes.

Sucks that the arm broke Chris, but now it's time to get some good ones.

^ I've been trying to attend as many events as I can here but I'm not sure if I can justify the cost of SPL arms. I wouldn't have had this problem if my tire wasn't leaking, though, and the eBay ones lasted me so long (albeit it creaked with the slightest suspension geometry changes)...

I also want the SPL mid-links and the lockout washers... and a real LSD.

^ No need to pay SPL prices. Go with the SPC rear camber arms. Durable and less expensive.

^ Ichiba ($129) is the same thing and cheaper than SPC ($174). I only mention SPL ($274) as their products are beefier. I still want the SPL's mid-link so I can use the lockout washers to keep my toe static while allowing greater toe adjustability in the first place.
