Got this code after test driving the car for a bit. P0430, which it sounds like is the O2 sensor at the cats on the drivers side.

A code P0430 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

The catalytic converter is no longer functioning properly
An oxygen sensor is not reading (functioning) properly
There is an exhaust leak
I'm hoping it's just doing it because of the HFC's and nothing serious.

Wow Stu, that's crazy you remember that meet where I rode the bike. That was when I was living right down the street from that restaurant.

Quang, you're right. After I posted last I realized it would be harder if the panels were off the bike because they would just be loose and moving around.

Thanks for the compliments on the bike guys. It's kind of my pride and joy, with the only flaw being the swirls in the paint. I've got so much money in that thing that even though I don't ride it much I just can't get rid of it.

Anyway, I'd love to get with you sometime Stu and get crackin on that thing.

Stu did the HFC come with non-foulers? I know Test Pipes needed them..don't know if HFC's need them as well.

Haha I remember you pulled right up to the door too. Didn't you have orange wheels then? Looked awesome.

Just let me know once you have time and we can get together.

They did not, but I got them used so no gaskets or hardware either. I wasn't expecting any codes either. I may send the guy a message and ask if he got a code. I'm going to clear it and see if it comes back.

I read on here that maybe 2007+ Z's had more sensitive sensors, so maybe I have them, since the FX is an '07.

That's the only time I've seen Eric's bike as well was at the Grapevine meet when he parked right in front of the door.

That's when I hooked Jen up with a cigarette and I don't even smoke. (Jake bring this up to Jen she'll probably remember lol).

Jason, Sup man....how's the house coming along ?

I got my diff in at Jake's and it works great, however there is slight high whinning sound as you accelerate and if your cruising around 40-50 you hear it the most...unless I take the foot off the gas...then it goes away. Sound gets faster as speed does as well.

Got any suggestions ?

Chris - it could be a number of things - I really hope that its not the pinion bearings though.. (where the drive shaft bolts up to the diff)

We did use OEM bearings off the old setup. So it could be those too..

Also another thing is the fluid. 80w/90 Valvoline.. I bet some motul could quiet it down some.

As long as you have a drill and the right sized bit, you can make the non-foulers yourself. I forget the part number, but I got all the parts I needed at AdvancedAuto back when I made them.

The 04.5 Zs got the wideband O2 sensors (03-04 had narrowband), which made it more difficult to install test pipes without throwing codes. Then HRs came out in 07s and the ECU is just a b1tch with them to the point where non-foulers don't really help. I haven't looked into this in years since I don't have a HR, but I would think that as long as you don't have a HR, you should be fine.

Either way, aren't you getting an UpRev tune? They can disable certain things, so I'd contact UpRev and see what is possible, then have your tuner do all of those things during the tune.

I've read several "complaints" about whining sounds after the solid diff bushing install and I'm guessing that's probably the culprit. I have solid diff bushings too and they're definitely noticeable (sound).

Jake, I'll come by tonight so you can hear it....I'm just worried it could be damaging something worst....but if you think its pretty minor then I'll be ok.

----

Chris, I hadn't thought it was the Solid diff bushings.

I think maybe between the 80w/90 Motul can help also !

I just want a couple of people to hear/feel what it sounds like and get their opinion as well.

Maybe Ilya has some ideas ?

I think you should definitely change to motul fluid.. Even if it don't get rid of noise it's still better for your diff.. Specially when you gonna be tracking your car

Haha yeah, I remember that too well! Funny guy...

Chris P, I read some last night, and you're right. I can turn off the sensors with Osiris. I'm really hoping the tune will take care of any strange readings. Also, I used the code pulling method again. Still have it from when you texted me.

Ya man I had fluorescent orange wheels on it then. I've since had them powdercoated Pearl Gold. I think the orange was awesome, but the gold is still nice with a more subtle attack on the eyes. My ultimate goal is the gold wheels with PPW paint, but that may not happen.

As for your error code... sounds like the HFCs threw off the a/f just enough. And as mentioned the tune will take care of that. Are you tripping down to Austin for the tune?

I think I saw the new paint in the motorcycles section a few months ago. Always loved those CBR's!

No, it's a local guy named Steve Kan who recently opened a shop up in Lewisville. He's big in the RX7 and RX8 scene, and gets flown around to do tunes.

Chris (Fithamoto) is also doing it along with a handful of G drivers. One G guy set it all up so we heard about it that way as I think both of us were considering going to UpRev.
