When you say open, what do you mean by that? I thought in STR, you couldn't have any suspension mods other than maybe camber kits and sways?
In Chicago, we have these 3 370Zs (each piloted by drivers on their 2nd year of autox) and these guys are FAST. I mean, I did pretty well in DFW with my regular street tires but I can't touch these guys at all on my R-S3s. I'm sure being in a newer Z helps, but it's not just the car. There's another 350Z in BSP and he's real fast, too. These Chicago guys don't play around.
If you ever come up here during the warmer weathers, bring your Z and check out the local autox talents.
Any brakes as long as its not smaller than stock,
Any coilover as long as it uses stock spring location.( so you need to use the rear bucket).
Any Sway bar
Poly bushings no soild links.
You can change either upper or lower control arms but not both together.
That gives you a lot of options in the susp dept.
No weight reduction other than basic floor mats, spare tire, battery size
Engine is limited to CAI. Header back exhaust with a Hi flow cat. Stock clutch/flywheel and rear gear. But you can change the LSD to any kind.
That is a good price for the 285's. If you look at the tire rack specs on the RS3 my 255 is only a tenth narrower than your 285. I think Hankook is playing to the str class and really stretched the sizing.
If the 370s are running in stock class they are probably on r comps along with the BSP guy so that while make a big difference along with there HP and Weight. BSP class lets you get into the engine so who knows what his HP is!
I am in Chicago for layovers with United. No cars in the cargo pits allowed

2 of the 370s are CS and the 3rd 370 should be in BSP but just races in CS. They're either stock or lightly modded with intake/exhaust and are running stock whatever Potenzas from factory (except 1 who's running wider RE-11s). The other BSP 350Z has RE-11 tires, rear camber arms, Nismo springs/shocks/wheels, and intake/exhaust. I rode with a couple of them and it's not just their cars that are fast; these guys are very good drivers.
There is actually another 350Z who runs in CS and his sister or wife also races that same Z. They keep to themselves so I've never spoken to either of them, but they're usually faster than the rest of us Zs as they run on R-Comps.
Just looked at SCCA National solo results for the C stock class which is the class for the 370, RX8, Solstice. A 370 finished ahead of all RX8 to take 6th behind 4 solstice and an MX5. Last year with the rx8 and 350z in b stock, the best 350 could do was 17th behind 16 RX8. So it looks like the370 is a lot better in stock trim compared to the 350.
Just keep telling your self that.

Very cool.... Once I can get more mobile I will re schedule that appt with my CPA.....that is going to be the " how the hell do I manage if I can not return to work, Career. So he will then look at my finances , retirement, savings ect and he will tell me if the car has to go or not. So I will keep you posted and again, it would be very cool if I have to let her go.... to keep it in the family. Emotional.
I like to be competitive but not enough to give up the Z.
Most of you know that I dont track, race, drift my car. I have wanted one since I first saw them at the car show just before they were releasing them. Then one day I saw one on the road..... Black, shiney... and I heard the exaust...... About 6-8 months later I stopped by the dealership, just to have a good look... not in my price range. They asked wanna test drive one ? ABSOLUTLY ! He brings it around, its AT, um thats ok, just wanna drive one, but ooh the color.... Brickyard !!!! Sweet. So I took it for a spin and what a blast I had
but how could I get one. Kids at home, one getting ready to go to collage but I fell in love that day, and some how I was going to get one. Then 2006 and the color Interlagos Fire Ok Im saving for one.... It took 2 1/2 years to save then I saw a used 06 Interlagos Fire... Im at work so I sent a friend, very clean not high on miles, so I get off work shred to the dealer..... beat out by someone that drove all the way from San Antonio, but I wait cause its not a done deal ..... well he got it So in the fall I see a nice silverstone to go look at, get there.....its gone but there is one on the lot.....DB, nice.... MT, there you go, Leather int ? pricey.... Wheels, Ive never seen those before.... 7,400 miles ? Where is the car fax. Its legit... Ok time to go, out of my price range. Well, just at least test drive it, after all its a MT....it was all over, I had found the car I was longing for..... I can be in the worst of worst moods, drive my DD right past somewhere I need to stop, ie store, bank but I will drive home, change out of my work clothes get in my Z and by the time I get back home I feel sooo much better. True love mean its not what it is on the outside...but what it does for YOU on the inside.....For me its a true driving experience.

Got my 06 brakes with some project mu pads knocked out today. They make a very significant difference over those sissy one piston calipers I had. Also got jakes engine out of the car today. I'm sure he will have some pics posted up tomorrow.

I really liked my change also. Looking forward to Mineral Wells next weekend and some big brake zones.

Nice! How does that compare to the 239? I shot one of the two and found it too small.
