I don't think that Mackie's post gives any definition on rather he was taking offense or just answering your question. I wouldn't read into it too much.

Thank you chris! Stu is right I didn't mean to exhibit any signs of being offended. I like the tlr1, but I would get one of the newer models as they are more compact. It's plenty bright and has taken a beating. Ive dropped it off of my balcony etc etc. Let me know if you want to know anything specific or if you would like to check it out in person.

I use the tlr1 led at work and love it. Plenty bright and very durable and with the led the batteries last for a good while too. Streamlight also make the tlr1 with the strobe function now as well like they have in the full size stinger/poly stinger lights.

The interwebz strikes again! I figured I read into it.

Anyway, as for the strobe function... I don't know from experience, but wouldn't it blind me as well in a home-invasion-self-defense situation? Not direct light blind me, but a strobe can mess with your eyes.

I find the constant feature to be more distracting and blinding if it's being shined in my eyes than the strobe. The strobe also distracts me if im pointing it at a wall or a person.

I'm going to go.... If I can get my son to come in his 240 because my kneelchair will not fit in the Z. So I hoping he will since it may be my last event.

idk I've never used the strobe function when I'm clearing a building. I've only used it to disorient drunk folk lol. I also don't have any personal experience with the tlr1 strobe buy I have done some courses with strobe lights where we would go in as a team and clear a series of rooms and it never really bothered me.

I walked outside tonight when I was going to get dinner, and it was a little chilly. Actually it was like 85 degrees, but yeah. Low tonight of 68, tomorrow's high is 85 and low 59? Guess it's just preparing me for school.

I would just imagine that my pitch black house I would blind the intruder with a strobe, but also disorient myself somewhat.

I leave a week from today, the 12th. When do you have time? Because I'll be busy soon getting ready and I have to polish the whole FX, minus the hood. I think Thursday might be the earliest I'm free, depending at what time during the day is best.

Ya it really just comes down to getting used to it and being placed in that type of situation in the first place. Essentially just training. I've had quite a bit of low light training at work to experience it so that I know what to expect.

I don't, I do private security. Nothing special but we do alot of training. They say it's for the "just in case" but I do it cuz it's fun and it's a good learning experience.
