I might have a friend coming out with me....but you can share a ride with me I'm sure with the PCA group. They were pretty cool about letting us take riders....although it isn't really allowed.

I will have an extra helmut.

Which day are you going out there Travis? Chris pointed out that the forecast shows rain for Saturday so we may do Sunday autoX.

lol glad the kool-aid man got a chuckle or two -

PPAT - i think my resonator has a loose piece in it - so it isn't the throwout bearing nor the cats - it appears to be a loose piece in my exhaust baffle resonator ... i'm only telling you because you offered me test pipes with the same issue lol

circled part

So..... hmm how to fix this annoyance - ugh -

i have my stock setup (if hr exhaust is the same) if you need to throw it on for a bit

so i just got email from Kinetix, they are still going to make me send mine in first, and they are going to reweld it... and only replace if unrepairable. i dont think they are going to be able to weld the part up in the cannister of the cat

So, all they're doing is rewelding the cracks and you even have to pay for shipping? I would've taken it to a local shop and gotten it welded for free (plus tip), but that's just me. That way, you save the hassle/money/time of taking the parts off the car, explain to Kinetix, ship the parts, and wait for them to reweld then send back, not to mention reinstall time. I'm all about efficiency.

Mike, you're probably going to have to cut out the resonator and weld a new one in. Again, same recommendation: take it to a local exhaust shop and let them either weld in a new resonator or put in a straight pipe.

Travis, I would make sure they give you a new one !

If they aren't and they are just gonna weld & fix it...then I would do what 350 is saying. Definitely a time saver.

they said the would replace if unrepairable, not only is it cracked along the weld, it is cracked on the canister also..... but that is not a bad idea, but i am not sure if the ceramic in the cat is broken apart or not... my initial thought is that it was and that is what was rattling, but now that i know it is cracked it may have been that

I am going to assume that it is unrepairable hahaha - especially after the pressure was removed from it, it is certainly going to be very broken - jk

Mike, to fix that you would have to cut into it. No real way around that. For my test pipe, all i would have to do is tig weld it up at the seam since it is accessible without cutting in to it. The shop that built my exhaust is in Wylie. Dude did a fantastic job and in the 2 ish years i had that exhaust i never had even one problem with any of his workmanship. Just search Rich's performance Muffler in Wylie. Owned and operated by rich who is also the exhaust fabrication/head welder at the shop. You can preview a lot of their work on his website.
