Hey fellas I can't seem to decide which brake pads to choose.. leaning towards maximum performance with the least amount of noise possible (Thanks Jake):b Got the 4/2 brembo setup, will be running Stoptech (power slot) slotted rotors in the front with cross-drilled/slotted in the back. I've used Hawk HPS pads and liked em but felt the braking distance degrade once they heated up. Currently leaning towards EBC red- or yellow- ..Can anyone who auto-x recommend some good pads? It would be much appreciated!

I have used The Hawk HPS, & EBC yellows....Currently I have the EBC blue pads on. EBC are much better !

Yellows will would be my recommendation if you DD your car...they will last longer. The blues seem to wear out quite a bit faster than the yellows.

I have gone thru a set of blues this year already....I think I might get the yellow's again next time because they worked great for Track & AutoX.

Andy - I can't speak to EBC or Hawk, but I'm running the Stoptech Performance Street pads for autoX/track days/street. I haven't noticed any fade with them at all. I'm sure there are pads with more bite, quite possible the EBCs that Chris and Scott use, but I've yet to use those. There is no noise with the Stoptech and seemingly very little dust (although my car sees little to no street time these days).

Moral of the story - stoptech street performance pads are a viable option.

I like my ebc blues over the hawks. No noise and I have had them on for a year with 2 track days and many auto crosses. I know Chris didn't like the wear of his blues but they should wear longer the the yellows. Either way I think you'll like ebc.

Spec chart for ebc. http://www.ebcbrakes.com/selector.shtml

Maybe I should give EBCs a try. I like the HP Plus so I'm already on my 3rd set, but it definitely is noisy almost all the time and dusts like a ****.

After driving Chris' car at autoX today I will say that his pads have much more bite than my Stoptech street pads. I don't have issues with mine, but his definitely have more bite. They would be too much for my tires, but he's got them paired with good grip so it works.

Yeah, driving each other's car at autox was pretty helpful today. I think it gave us more insight into our cars and a better idea of how to address its current set up issues. Congrats on placing podium, Eric!
