Subject: 2013 Circuit of the Americas cancellation

Attention Lone Star Chapter DE Student and Instructors

We received devastating news from the Circuit of the Americas last night. Without explanation, communication at this time is that they they are now not interested in allowing HPDE or amateur racing at the facility. We have been advised that our deposit is being refunded, our dates cancelled, and all organization events such as our have been cancelled as well. This is undoubtedly a massive loss for the Texas motorsports communuity. We are shocked and amazed at this turn of events and regret that we must deliver this disappointing news immediately prior to the Holidays.

The facebook page for the Circuit may be a source of additional information (or frustration).

Huge thank you to Jake for helping me bleed my brake lines today !

I always enjoy doing work on the Z with him....you will learn a bunch if you pay attention.

I now have a new fresh bleeded brake line of Motul RBF 600 in my Z ready for a new year of Tracking & AutoX.

Thanks again to Jake !
Thanks man, I know Jake... we (more he, I supervised and tried to learn) did my brake pads, lines and rotors, as well as my coilover swap a while back.... I'll definitely being doing plugs and ART pipes soon.... probably a clutch.

I want to go over and replace hoses, plugs, and bushings.... it's 10 years old and while it hasn't given me much grief, I'd feel better knowing it was done.

I got this email from Steve Hodges after the one from Mark.

There have been a huge amount of rumors going around about the Circuit of the Americas cancelling events. Let me assure to not pay attention to all these rumors and comments. There are things in the works that I am not at liberty to say at this time. Please bare with us, further information will be sent out after the first of the year. Don't change your plans for June.
Thank You
Steve Hodges

I got both emails, one from Mark and one from Steve. Sounds like some major confusion going on. Dont think I'll do those this year but it would be cool.

I doubt that I would have gone to this event also.

I don't know if they are afraid of the public or what...but they shouldn't have to worry about it anyhow....they can do whatever they want.

JaE35z, I'm on day 4 of driving and haven't seen any evidence of it wanting to drop in idle or stall. I'm keeping my fingers crossed....I hope it stays normal thru the winter because I like to drive the Z when it's cold out....Love the seat warmers.

Is yours still acting up ?

You should get some MAF cleaner also....while your cleaning the TB.
I cleaned it while it was still attached to the tube....just took off pieces until it was just the small tube it was mounted on.
Try to spray all sides of it...but be careful...it is very sensitive....I sprayed mine twice from about 8-12 inches. Not sure if helped, but maybe it was a combination of both things.

My company is working, but my department is shut down today. I had the option and was going to go in for overtime, but decided I better be smart and spend time with the family.

You stuck there all day Travis?

I'm not sure Travis....never taken one off before. I just clean the linkage out by spraying and holding the gas open.
