Total shop time was 13 hours. Glad it's installed and over with. Big thanks to Travis for helping. 5th and 6th gear feel a little different, doesn't slide into gear as easy as it should. Might just have to adjust the short shifter. Also found out I have a CD002 tranny....

I am definitely down to hang out. When were you thinking?
BTW, I stopped by the autox yesterday. I was going to say hi but you were running when I arrived and then you were gone when I came back from riding along with Eric.

Saturday's autox was cold and rainy for the morning heats, then it dried out but was pretty cold. Scott, Dusty, and I went to the ER event today. Great weather, fast track, and lots of craziness including a Viper losing it and coming very close to taking me and another worker out.
But it was good times as usual

Some pictures from my brembo upgrade. I decided to paint them myself rather than spend the money to PC them. I first removed the old seals, boots and pistons. During that process I damaged 3 pistons, so I had ordered new ones from Courtesy Nissan. I used airplane remover to take the stock gold paint off. I went with VHT. I put 3 coats of VHT primer, baked the calipers as requested by the label. Then I went with red, I put 5 coats, used one spray can per caliper. I also baked the calipers per instructions. The paint actually turned out great. The rebuild of the seals and boots was straight forward and easy. Then the install. If I could do it over again, I would have had them PC. The paint seemed to chip rather easy, plus the mechanic I used was not careful with brake fluid, plus he bleed the brakes old school way and didn't use my motive bleeder. So my calipers look as if then need touch up. Oh we'll.. I purchased Z1 SS lines and went with Napa ultra premium rotors and pads. The set up looks nice, but I'm still currently trouble shooting some issues. Hopefully I can get some good feedback from some you guys next Saturday.

Looks good, but sucks that you had issues after. I plan to powdercoat mine red soon. I wonder if we could get a deal by having ours done at the same time.
As for those decals... I'm OCD so I'll definitely have to find out where to get properly sized labels for the rear.
Good job on the work though.

Today I installed the rear Hard lines that the mechanic did not use. The Z1 website states that their SS premium lines will only work if the hard lines are used. So I installed those and I also switched the rear pads, inner to outer, outer to inner. Re-bleed all calipers using the motive bleeder. All that work, but still get that knock/clamping of the rear pads. I did however notice that my pedal is more firmer, but still feels soft. I think my step is to order some OEM Nissan brembo pads.

What pads are you using now? Sometimes you'll hear the pads shift going forward right after reversing.
TopKoat does great work and $200 isn't bad for all 4 calipers.

Pads I'm using now are Napa Ultra Premium. Their top quality, I've got an employee discount, so I figure I would pick some pads and rotors up, saved a killing. What you described it was I think I'm hearing. Sounds like the pads clamp pretty hard on to the rotor with my first initial brake, but goes away after I do some normal driving and braking. Top Koat said they could even match the gold. But they did tell me they would not put the decals on themselves. I'd have to drive out there to do it.

Well now it sounds like you're describing air in the lines. If your brake pedal is fading that's probably what it is. I got the help of a buddy and did the old two man method of bleeding. One guy on the pedal and one guy at the caliper.
If you haven't gotten everything sorted by next weekend we can work something out and I'll give you a hand.
