^ Nice, I did my plugs then cleaned the inside of my plenum, throttle body, and the engine bay yesterday. Well, the engine bay is still dirty, but it's definitely better now after the minor wiping here and there and blowing all the debris out in between crevices. Top of the valve covers, just above the block under the intake manifold, the strut bar area, etc were disgusting.

Going by the guy's plenum, it looks like he has the non-rev DE. What year is his and how many miles? His wire looms don't look as dry and cracked as mine... but I guess mine's older and have been through more heat cycles?

Thumbs up OEM SIZE OIL FILTER VS 2004 HONDA ACCORD Filter

I read this on the forums and tested it out..

filters are bigger and are cheaper. just thought Id share...doubt it filters better but I would like to think it does..

diameters are the same

Is this the same girl as this one?
https://my350z.com/forum/8284822-post2704.html

If so, rofl @ you talking about her being crazy but posting her picture in "my gf" thread. Either way, Can I hang out with you?

I still haven't even seen your car, even though you're only a city over and as many times as others have spotted you.

I read too many spacer and mrev threads to not be able to tell a difference by looking at the plenum.

It must be nice to have a "not as old" car. My engine is still going strong as hell, though.

The filters themselves should be made of same material and design, just different height. I would assume that since there's more surface area (more filter), it should filter more and/or for longer, but real life doesn't always follow logic.

But, I get free oil changes for life anyway, so it doesn't matter for me.

It doesn't have to be strictly 04 Accord. It can be any year Accord as long as it's the same generation as the 04, so 03-07.

When it comes to filters there are many others that are bigger and work.....

Filter work by how many micros of particle size they can pick up, so you have to do your own research and determine..........usually 8-10 microns and a dammn good filter will do as low as 5 microns...

I use a NISSAN PATHFINDER or XTERRA/MAXIMA FILTER on my Z and its identical sized for the VQ because the pathfinder and Xterra/Max have VQ's in them....its most likely identical to the accord one Jake posted.....appears to be just as tall, etc....

next time your doing your own oil change, when you go pick up a Z oil filter at autozone, ask them to see a Z filter and a pathfinder or Xterra filter and you will see.......

add a wee bit more oil and check your level and be sure your good...........more volume means less internal oil pressure, so oil level still needs to be the same.....

you have to contact the manufacture of each filter and ensure it has the same pressure values as the stock size Z filter, etc...
