Hey guys, I just moved to the Dallas area from VA. I'm living in the uptown area and love it so far. Just hoping there won't be any car break ins while I'm here! I know there was a lot in the past few years, so I'll be sure not to leave anything around.

Anyways, I'm trying to set up cable/tv for my apt. Do you guys know any good providers/deals out there? I'd prefer not to have a satellite dish if possible. I don't have a big balcony and don't really want to cluster it with more stuff.

Also, anyone play basketball, volleyball or any other sports around here? I'm looking to join a gym for pickup or a rec league.

Looking forward to meeting some of you guys!

Chris, I wish I could, too. Nobody here does any sort of racing. It's worse than when I was drag racing alone (since even I can't race here.. no slicks for drag, no events for autox, nitrous set up messed up, car messed up.. ).

biglobster - Start going to the events and hang out with these guys. If you've been to the Mid-A events, I'm sure it's not much different in DFW. A lot of them have so much to offer. And as far as cable/tv, I think you're pretty much limited to Time Warner.

I had time Warner and personally hated them. My Internet got to where it would even work in the daytime and they were more expensive for cable and Internet for less channels and no DVR than verizon. I personally would recommend verizon fios of it's available at your apartment. The time Warner thing couldve just been my area or my house being as old as it was (30 years)
but I was absolutely satisfied with verizon before I moved out. We have dish network now and they're ok but not as good as verizon IMHO. But regardless welcome to DFW!

Did you ever find a good body shop to take care of your car yet? Still can't believe that happened to you man.

+1 on TW being crap. I figured since he said cable, he was set on that. If not, I also recommend Fios.

And no, I've been busy so I was only able to report the accident to the insurance company today. I got the ball rollin' so we'll see how it goes from here.

welcome....

we have meets and events often....ironically the next meet is AFTER the next AutoX event, so make it out to them and you can meet most of us that frequent this DFW lounge between these two events........

AUTOX: - great location for beginners so you should come out for sure.....if not come watch for next time, but you'll regret not racing......

Monthly meet: awesome sushi restaurant....!!

yes, NTB as well......they will not advertise them, but if you walk straight into the bay and ask for used tires, they will usually walk u to a rack in the back where they will have stickers labeled on the used tires with permanent marker giving the price......not a bad option of course, but 50 bucks for a used potenza is ALOT actually.........

any local mom and pop tire shop sells me tires for 30 to 35 bucks max!! sometimes cheaper!

tons of places like that all over DFW...im lucky enough that my work in Grand Prairie is in a very industrial area and im surrounded by them..........if any of you guys EVER need really good INEXPENSIVE replacement tires.........let me know..i know where to go, who to ask for, etc...

H&H Tire in Arlington sold me four ~60-80% tread tires for $110 mounted and balanced. Granted they were only 14" tires lol, but still a hell of a deal when I was strapped for cash riding on steel belts.

Welcome!

As for cable, I'm getting a pretty good deal with AT&T U-verse. I pay around $80/month for Tier 2 internet/TV(200+ channels). I didn't want my balcony cluttered with a dish either.

See you around.
