Default Cipher showed something strange with my A/F ratio

Apparently, according to the cipher tool. At Idle, bank 1 runs ~15.0 a/f ratio and bank 2 runs ~ 13.9 A/f ratio....Is this even possible? It worries me because my car keeps throwing P1283 (bank 1 lean condition). What on earth could be causing this?

Might want to look into having your widebands checked / calibrated...

Is the injector pulse the same for both banks?

That is a huge discrepancy and it's pretty surprising...

If you have bigger injectors and your injector pulse is like super low, the pulse width could be unpredictable. Maybe you can raise idle and if you have the capability, add a small amount of fuel at no-load...

Idle cannot be raised, the SS box wont allow it sadly. I am going to swap sensors tomorrow and see if the problem shows on the other side, that could tell me if its just the sensor, if its not, i might just have to add some fuel. But how can i do it to only bank 1 (bank 1 is the drivers side right?)

I dont believe your SS Box should have anything to do with you raising the idle through your ECU. If you car is not a 2004.5 up you should be able to raise it.

idle cannot be raised using consult/cipher on 2004.5 and up G35s - pretty sure its the same for 350z...

swapping the sensors left/right is a great troubleshooting plan.

That's strange, because I am looking at the Cipher V1.03 owners manual, and on page 12, it shows that you can.

Hey Jared at UpRev...can you comment on this.

Thanks,
Joe

I raised idle on 2005 and 06 350z no problem.

What size injectors do you have?

I *think* bank 1 is actually passenger side.

Looked at the sensors today, i do not think they are swappable, they have different clips and the plugs look different. If Bank 1 is indeed the passenger side then i could have a real issue here. My wideband is in the drivers side test pipe so i am not sure what my other side is doing, very very strange.

Driver's side is the side that usually runs a little leaner which is why most people install the wideband on that side.

If you look here:
https://my350z.com/forum/tuning/221676-where-can-i-make-improvements-see-charts-greddy-eu-or-utec-users-chime-in.html

you'll see that my bank 2 is a little leaner than B1. If I am correct in assuming that the driver's side is bank 2 then that is consistent with what ZU L8R is saying.

OEM wideband AF sensors can be swapped. I had done that and on my car made no difference.

Can't cipher do injector test? I haven't done it yet myself, but maybe one of your injectors is busted.
