4. The Tuned E-Tune seems to run pretty rich. Is that for safety reasons between various cars?
1. Yes. But since we've set new more optimal targets and compensation tables, it shouldn't need to learn too much, unless you change hard parts obviously. Switching between a stock map and tuned map, the stock map will still learn as the stock ECU does.
2. It learns from both.
3. eTune is just air/fuel compensation, unless theres something major going on there, and we tune for both open and closed loop.
4. When did you get your last eTune done?

Correct which is why Shawn is the tuning god that he is.

How many other vehicles are getting support at this time? What is my average wait time for a usable tune if I pay tomorrow for a tune for my 05 350z with a Injen intake and nismo thermostat?
(IE Time before you get my $$ and I get my tune?

I am pretty impressed with the reviews this kit has to offer. I have been reading this thread for about 3 hrs, YES 3 hours. I am very interested to say the least. The only thing that sucks about this is that I have an 03.

So to my understanding I can still use the cipher to datalog but without any A/F data w/RPM readings? So really it wouldn't be possible to get an e-tune without the A/F data correct? Just trying to get a better understanding of this. I did plan on buying a wideband controller, but I am still confused on what a RPM pickup is and how to even install one or use it in conjunction with a WB.

An RPM pickup is exactly what it sounds like, it picks up the RPM. You want a wideband that has a RPM pickup so you can determine what the AFR is at a certain RPM.

That is how you tune your car.

the lc-1 he is going to need to read a/f since he is a 2003. he is going to need the lma-3...auxbox....which uprev will need to show rpm's also. your going to need to log with cipher and logworks (lc-1, lma-3) so uprev will be able to reflash your ecu. its sounds like its hard and complicated, but its really not....the guys at uprev and innovate help, and the instructions are pretty straight forward. UPREV FTW!!!

Just order the Osirus because its like having a lifetime tune/reflash.. You can send it in and update it and then download that new tune into your car.. I just did and i think its a great investment!!!

Or to get my car tuned do I need a wideband???? Im lost and whenever I try to call uprev I get no answer, can somebody take some time and help me before I just order the Access Port!!!!!

I am assuming logworks is the program that the LMA-3 or the LC-1 comes with? So does LMA-3 hook straight up to the LC-1? You're right this does sound confusing. Sounds like something that I will need a local tuner to help me out with. Thanks.

Yes, you can still get a reflash. It will just be a generic tune with the mods you already have. I believe they will need a wideband in order to do a custom tune for you.

i thought it did since you have a 04.5. i'm pretty sure the 03 and early 04 were the ones that didn't have wideband. i'll keep searching to find a definitive answer. or hopefully someone who knows offhand can chime in.

EDIT: from the cipher product page:

Below is a short list of available data parameters...
Engine Speed - RPM
Throttle Position Sensor
Vehicle Speed
MAF Sensor
Calculated Load Value
Oxygen Sensor
Ignition Timing
Accelerator Position
Wide Band A/F Voltage (2004.5+)
Coolant Temperature

According to your sig you do...

I'm 04.5 (but G) and Osiris is fully functional... for Gs I can tell you the VIN sequence that determines 04.5 but I doubt it will correlate with a Z... you might want to search and see if anyone has posted the VIN for 04.5 out here...

To my knowledge only very early 03s (version 1 cars) are fubar'd for Osiris... so you should be okay anyway...
