Strange UTEC problem. Map Sensor?
The car is an 03 350z w/ a vortech kit with 3.12 pulley, kinetix intake, 650cc injectors, and walbro fuel pump. It is running the UTEC with map sensor. The problem that I'm having with it is that the UTEC is not seeing the boost. I haven't made it all the way through the rpm range yet, but we have gotten up to 5psi or so and the UTEC barely gets into the 10% column. This is very dangerous because up until about 4700rpm the car is running off of the ecu timing. What would cause a problem like this? The map sensor is hooked up to manifold vacuum off of the same port as the boost gauge so they should be reading the exact same but they are not. I also punched in the calibrations that are on the card that came with the map sensor. Have any of you guys experienced this? Maybe just a bad map sensor? I'm running the 2.8 software if that matters also.
good idea on the pinched line. i'll have to check that out. didn't even think about that possibility. i'll probably just rerun it all. thats the part that sucks about tuning a car you didn't do all the work on.

I currently have the same problem with my UTEC. I have replaced the MAP sensor twice now and my UTEC still doesn't read any boost. I checked all of the lines and everthing is good to go. I don't know what to do except to call TXS and see if they will swap out my UTEC. Good luck and let us know if you get it figured out.
yeah i'm thinking faulty parts as well. everything is right in the parameters and such so its got to be bad parts. i'll let you guys know when i get it worked out. tabbott, let me know if you get yours figured out too.

just an update on this issue. it turned out that the vacuum tee that was going to the map sensor somehow had some blockage inside of it. one of the absolute strangest things i've ever seen. thats why the map sensor was never seeing the pressure though. b/c it was basically blocked off. its all fixed now and the car put down 330whp and 277ft/lb in 102deg weather. pretty fun car.

well to be honest i think its a bit low too. i'm thinking it has to be a belt issue b/c of the fact that the car never actually saw 9psi in the logs. barely got to even 8psi and that wasn't till the very end. the slippage seems to start around 5k rpm or so. lots of belt dust near the charger too. probably will try the timrod pulley setup. oh well we'll get that stuff worked out later.
