personally I'd chat with the guys @ Uprev.com see if they can help you. their system has a bunch of potential. and its not plagued w/ many of the typical issues.

Utech is cheap and dirty. It gets the job done.

Uprev.com is offering something that sounds like it could surpase the utec in terms of the cheap and dirty alternative.

At the very least, upgrade to larger injectors and install a Walbro fuel pump. Tune with the UTEC or something.

/\ +1 I love my Utec... but uprev seem to be promising but not enough history yet.

Dont tell me you listened to ATI sales person that you don't need an EMS with their kit? I'm amazed that some of their sales person still say this to potential customers...

Sorry to hear about your motor... If you can afford it, the Haltech is the clearly superior product. Worth every penny. Given your location out of the country (?), I don't think Osiris from UpRev will be a viable option for you given no pro-tuners outside the USA to my knowledge - but I'm not 100% certain about that (they have an end user product but not sure what the limitations are for that product yet)...

Just put a call in to your local tuners before you buy. See what they are comfortable with, and ask if they have ever tuned with UTEC. Then make a decesion. The last thing I would want to do, is buy an EMS and then find out that the tuner has never even heard of it.

Yeah, that would suck to buy an ems only to find you couldn't get it tuned...

Hrm, Steinbach in Manitoba? You could use Osiris Tuner and either tune yourself or take it to any Tuning shop for them to tune with it. Same as what you would do with the Utec.

The major difference being that there is no switch over and unlike the Utec we're not fighting the stock ECU, we are the stock ECU.

The TN kit originally came with only a Technosquare reflash which was rpm based as far as fuel input and timing rather than load-based.

I was detonating when my kit was overboosting (too much air, not enough fuel).

I started researching EMSs that were adjustable/tuneable but also not that pricey. From what i remember, the UTECS cost LOADS more and I think the Unichip (which APS uses) also were much more expensive. After researching the for-sale sections, I saw a guy selling the Greddy EU and I studied it. I saw that it had been around for ALONG time and that many tuners were very familiar with it.

It was sold to me, along with a sensor for $400!!! (Typically $800 or so, brand new, at the time). Considering that it was an electronic piece of equipment and doesn't necessarily 'wear out' like mechanical equipment, I went ahead and bought it, used (I typically buy only brand new things).

It is arguably the best thing I ever did to the car besides the turbo kit itself. It cured the detonation, made the idling smooth, engine responce was a lot quicker and helped me pick up more hp and tq because it was tuneable.

I love it and have no complaints. It's perfect for the person who isbn't going *****-out with their kit trying to make 800 hp or so.
