Will an UpRev tune from Z1 eliminate throttle delay?
So I'm about to try Autocross for the first time and I've been practicing my quick shifts
I noticed that I was able to shift faster than the Revs would fall. I was having to force the engine speed down with the clutch, which I don't like. So, I googled.
I learned all about the "Drive by Wire" and how it "hangs" for emissions and all that bologna.
I started searching for a solution and found some shiz by Technosquare but more importantly I read that a few people were commenting about their "much improved throttle response" from tunes (such as UpRev).
I'm posting this thread to get further confirmation from some people who have tuned their Z. Is this issue fixable via an UpRev tune? Will I get 100% control over my throttle body after a tune?
Thanks

The reason the revs fall slow is more due to the momentum of the weight of the heavy oem flywheel than actual throttle response.
getting an uprev tune would help it rev up faster by making the throttle more sensitive and also let the throttle body open up to 100% which would increase throttle response when revving it.
also the reason for quick shifting in the first place is to purposely shift it before the revs can fall so the speed is rev matched and you stay in the power band.

exactly - there is no lag with the drive by wire on this car whatsoever
Ever drive an 06 Si? Now that has DBW lag....even my Audi is WAY better
How do you improve throttle response? Easy - reduce rotational mass. Light flywheel, light pulley, light wheels, etc. Those are the simplest, most effective ways

U can turn off the ETC (electronic throttle control) in uprev which will probably eliminate the 'hang' you're speaking of. But yea I know what you're talking about -- it's a delayed decel fuel cut.
