THE Z IS HOTT BUT DONT HATE ON THE 8 its hott just not as fast.
hahah not to mention R&T, CAR & DRIVER, motor trend...(childish low blow)

but lets get this straight, like willpwr said, it all comes down to preference. Both cars have their highs and lows, ofcourse i will get a totally biased answer from this board and if you go to the rx8 forums you will get the same kind of response but car bashing? Thats just uncalled for.

I cannot find a comparison in Car & Driver, Road & Track called it a draw (http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....page_number=3), and Motor Trend placed RX-8 first, the 350z second, and the S2000 third (http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...n/index2.html), and said part of the decision for placing the 350z second was "Finally, the rear cargo bay, though seemingly large, is compromised by an integral strut-tower brace, which limits the size and shape of luggage you can fit on board." It is a freaking sports car!

In every test I've ever seen the RX8 wins b/c of better practicality. I haven't seen one yet where they wrote "this car is clearly more fun to drive." Personally, when i purchase a sports car, practicality is at the bottom of my list...which is why the Z's styling and torque led me to select it over the RX8. I think the RX8 is a cool car, but it has a horrible rep b/c of the horsepower, mileage, and oil consumption controversies. My suspicion is that in the future it will be a hard car to get rid of.

Just needs more torque, but then again people will always complain. I understand though.

Gas mileage...I redline daily and avg 20mpg. We really don't know the driving habits of those that get lower (lead foot, or 100% in city driving) or bad ecu tune. Mazda is known for that. The engine uses oil to cool rotors. Not a problem that its made out to be unlike other engines that just eat oil and its not even designed to do so. I can think of a few...

Anyway, both cars are sexy and fun and have their +-.

Agreed Mdaj...and the day I need 4 seats or a softer ride, I will look into the Rx8.

Thats the truth! Just installed springs this weekend. MMMm. Next, underbody bracing, thicker sways, tower braces, and struts.
