Brake lines do NOT usually burst. That video didn't indicate anything about a burst line...

 

The video description says:

My brake hose popped as I was going into turn 1 at about 100mph. ...

I want to know exactly which hose "popped"... hopefully my stainless steel lines are less susceptible than the stock rubber ones.

 

first time i ever heard of ANYONE popping a brake line. that would have been ugly on the highway.

I heard that if you track your car a lot with rubber brake line hoses they tent to expand as they are exposed to higher temperature more often. Is this true?

 

yes, but they expand even when you drive everyday, just at a much slower rate

There was no save involved, just a lot of luck. If I werent so freaked out, I would have nailed the gas as i was heading for the fence. It's one thing to lose the car while overdriving, it's another when the car decides to kill you.

 

so it popped off from the connector? i thought your line bursted in the middle. crazy shet

 

connector? I guess. It popped off the metal if that's what you mean. It didnt break off at the union bolt.

 

did an asian kid with M3 help you bleed the brakes? if so thats my cousin.. lol
