All 350z and G35 have an access panel on both sides like that. There is another level sensor in there.

If you put hr pistons in a vq35de it will give you 12.0:1 compression

interesting though... seems like a LOT of the clutter has been minimized for far more efficiency in space and weight savings.

how are the motor mounts placement of the block? is it the same with the DE?
There are several posts on the HR and what has changed. The major points are:
New block with taller deck height and full crank brace integrated into the block, instead of DE's crank girdle.
New crank with larger main and rod journals
Longer conrods that are forged
New assymetrical pistons( ala GT3)
Different front cover to acomodate new block and heads
New head design with square intake ports and diferent combustion chambers
New electromagnetic exhaust cam phasing and different location of CVTC solenoids from DE engines
Of course new composite intake manifold with twin TB's
New serpentine belt system replaces dual belt set-up on the DE
As mentioned, new exhaust manifolds

I think that covers the basic changes.

Those headers actually look pretty decent. I will definitely be surprised if people see significant gains with aftermarket headers.

I wonder if the hr headers will bolt on to revups?

I know right now you can buy at least one side of the hr headers fora little over $300 at everythingnissan.com

stupid question but does anyone know if the final drive is the same as the older models? I guess what I'm what I'm wanting to know is is there any changes on the gearing on the tranny or final drive?
