I am going to assume that the HR plenum will not work on our DE model cars. Would this assumption be correct?

On a side note I can't wait to see what the VQ37HR will bring to the table and what we can use of that.

Not sure how far we'll get, but the timing covers and assembly is coming off...maybe the heads.

The coil packs look like they will fit on the 03-06. If they provide more spark energy, they will be a nice upgrade for very high powered engine builds, as eventually we're going to see spark blow out and misfires.

HR plenum will not work on the DE...correct.

Tourinz...look closely at the contours of the HR vs. DE pumpkin, and you will see they are different on the outside.

Sorry for this noobish question...here it goes. Wih the the 07 will you be able to safely run a TT kit on the stock internals, without having to worry about blowing your eninge? Staying within the boost limits of whatever the warrenty says of course(8psi-10psi?). I know there isnt a kit available for the 07 yet.

Here are some sample answers to your question, pick the one that you like the best.

-Yes it will be safe up to 500whp.

-No, it will go boom for sure, due to higher compression.

-Sharif said the engine looks like it has been built for boost.

-Maybe we should wait and see rather than speculate

It should be at least as stout as the current engine, but beyond that its pretty speculative until some people actually start trying FI with the 07.

A currently VQ35 with TT's and 350whp properly setup and tuned can run forever...almost. My hope is that the new engine will raise the conservative power bar to 450whp.

I don't think we will be able to see though. Because he said he MIGHT take the heads off. That isn't going to show us the connecting rods, only show us the heads of the pistons which we already have pictures of from the 350DE transplant link earlier in this thread. I doubt they will pull the rotating assembly.

Pics of the rotating assembly are already posted on other websites...but we will do out best to accomodate....you can tell they look much beefier. We are doing this in our free time, and of course the business and our customers comes first.

We are the first "I think" to take one apart at all....but there are plenty of Nissan file photos all over the internet.

Hey guys, I got an HR y-pipe (for 350z) being shipped right now new from nissan right now--anyone know if this will bolt up to my g35 d m/t w/ vq35de engine?

I know the g35 sedans w/ the HR engine have true-dual setups, but the nissan 350z's w/ the HR do not have a true dual setup correct? If this is true, the Z HR y-pipe should bolt right up to my 05 revup? Can anyone please verify? Thx!

Thanks for the link. Any comparison, like side by side, old rod and new rod?

I have an 07 and can say the Y pipe is longer than the 03-06 setup. I dont think it will fit.

Also here is a link that shows the internals of the HR scroll down for more pics.

What's the portion that the board is asterixing out brotha?

That sux. I wonder if it makes a difference if I have a g35 coupe? Can you verify that the 07hr z is not a true dual exhaust, correct? The Y-pipe is a 2 to one pipe (2.4/2.5 inches diameter), albeit slightly longer?

Correct the 07 Z has a 2.5 foot section that is single exhaust. Not true dual.

The section of the link i posted that is not showing up is "350z - tech"

yeah, Nissan pulled a fast one on us. All this talk about a symetrical true dual exhaust system, and then we lift up the 07, and see the same crappy stock exhaust on the 06.
