It is right on the shaft of the transmission that goes into the flywheel/etc. This requires you to drop the transmission.

Nissan told me it was internal too and the tranny needed to be dropped.
Also they told me the Nismo one was different and was internal. So maybe they meant all 07's were and only saw 06's before?

All 07s are. The NISMO has exactly the same drivetrain as any 07 Z.

Well... I took my car to the dealership for a whinning noise. They told me that it was a recall the 07 had. So I left it there for them to fix. 1 day later they told me it was replace and the throw out bearing was *** up....after they put everything together it was still making the same noise...... So they called nissan HQ or whatever they say... They r replacing the entire tranny....... which I have to wait 5 days for them to get it order and then take it back again..

It does not smell like the clutch. I thought it was a fluid leak, burning off, but they did not locate a leak.
The smell has faded quite a bit, to only occasionally, but I will have another dealer check again, when I get my oil changed.

Just picked up the car from having the slave cylinder replaced. Did not notice in difference in the way the clutch feels. It will be a couple weeks before I know if the sticking problem is fixed.

So... I dropped my Nismo off yesterday because it had a screw in the tire, and I'm supposed to have coverage on the wheels and tires for road hazard. They told me they had a TSB out, and said they'd fix that at the same time. This is around 11am yesterday, then I get a call around 3pm that it won't be done, because they have to pull the tranny for the tsb. Fast forward to today around 3pm, and they tell me the new slave cylinder broke, and they can't get another one til Monday.

I was told the BULK of a day. My dealer said the tranny & exhaust have to come out. I told him I was planning on having a Magnaflow put on tomorrow and he said they to take off an exhaust, so the have to put on an exhaust. My 07 has 3400 miles on it so I don't know if I'll get a new clutch. Saves me some money on the exhaust though...
