Initially, they replaced everything on mine, including the clutch, pressure plate, hydraulics, all lines, etc.

Not sure what they'll do this time, but I haven't had the issue since it was replaced either.

I am doing my first recall tomorrow, and if the slave cylinder caused damage to any other parts, it should be repalced...

From my understanding it will run under the normal powertrain warranty requirements. So shouldnt be a rush

Yeah, wait until your clutch pedal goes to the floor in the highway and you end up totaling your Z. Thats why there is a recall!!!!! It's a safety issue

again, nota ll cars are affected by this issue... it's a voluntary recall, you do it if you want to... and I'm not sure how long it lasts.. I've seen 95 pathfinders w/ 1600000 getting recalls done

Just FYI...

Walked in to the local dealer today, the one who will be doing the recall work. I said, "I have a question. Since the trans has to come out, which probably requires removal of the exhaust--" and before I could continue, he said "Nope!!!!!" If it were up to him, he'd be very happy to have the tech install the Borla for a minimal labor charge, but Nissan *requires* them to put everything back exactly the way they found it. Lawsuits, etc.

So if anyone else was thinking the same thing I was, I'm afraid you're going to have to forget it. Unless your service writer is braver than mine is.

If it wasn't a rush, Nissan wouldn't send the notices out like the did. There is a reason why they did it so fast.

Well, after dropping off the car around 11am Thursday, I still don't have it back. I had to call to get updates myself since they didn't seem to want to call me.By about 1:30pm today, they hadn't gotten the replacement yet to fix the new one they broke last friday.

You should request a loaner and be firm about it. I got one. They tried to be funny with me stating it is not covered but, I told them I called Nissan Consumer Affairs and they gave it to me no questions asked. You dont want to rush them cause then they will do a sh!tty job.

They offered me a rental a few times, but I was off Friday, today and tomorrow... I've got an old Jeep here I can drive, it's just the fact that they've had it for so long and haven't kept in touch, etc. The tire that was supposed to be patched/replaced hasn't even been looked at in the 4 days it's been there either.

It's BS.... nissan can't tell what is going to be done in YOUR car... expect to pay extra labor ( the tech is gonna try to make some money on it) but it can be done...

I HOPE you're right but I'm afraid you're not. I've now called three dealers and gotten EXACTLY the same answer. (Maybe they're reading from a script. ;-) ) I'm plenty willing to pay the extra to have an aftermarket exhaust installed, and Dealer #1 was plenty willing to do it on a separate trip, but not at the same time as the recall.

I agree that it's BS. Likely lawyer-driven BS.

Heres how it works, bring your car to dealer A. While the work is being done, take $50 to the tech (more or less depending how pay rates in your area are) and tell him that you'd like him to replace your stock exhaust with the one in the trunk undocumented.

He will likely do so without saying anything, the service writer unless very attentive will never notice, you tell her/him that you wanted to get something from your car (sunglasses) and everything works out.

again it is not really considered a recall according to Nissan. And I dont think they were sending notices out like you think. I think I only got mine because I called because of the post here.
Also it is a safety issue if the person driving gets freaked out and doesnt use common sense.
If your clutch sticks. . . . its in neutral. Pull to the side of the road.

Anyway. mine is scheduled for the first. They were very nice about giving me a loaner even though I dont need it.

I just picked up my Z Car runs like new! I must say that Maroone Nissan of Pembroke Pines Fl did in excellent job. The tech that worked on my car owns an 07 Z also and properly angled my Nismo Exhaust (one tip was higher then the other now they are even and you can see the muffler better.) Before it looked tucked in.

Well I finally got mine back around noon today. The clutch feels great now, but the shifter feels off, everything feels like it's shifted to the left. Fifth and sixth aren't all the way over to the right now, you have to search for them... Guess it's back to the shop soon.

^ You'd think they'd check this during a test drive. Just don't settle for it was that way when you brought it in!
