Yea I tried and it helped a lil but still looks close. But tnx for telling me I got a little bit of tape in case if I hit a bump it will stop it.

You can do that or you could get some double-sided tape and tape some cushioning or some sort to where the tube is. As long as it's under the strut bar, it shouldn't be obvious.

I'm trying to decide if I should take the plunge and I'm seeing mixed results. Is there any noticable and/or documented performance improvement? How is the sound? Is this the best of the intake options available now?

I had the Stillen intakes (short Tube verson) on my 07 and just recently took them off and switched back to stock air box with drop in Blitz filters. I had them on my Z for about 10,000 miles and noticed that I lose a bit of low end (at least it felt like it) and gained a bit on top. Once I took them off and went back to stock (stock filter) I could feel the difference and I prefer stock now. The kit is in the (for sale) forum for 200. I do like they way the long tubes look, I wish stillen didn't release these after dropping 400 on the short tubes. If anyone thats local wants to get my set for 200 and just order the long tubes for 130 then you can save some cash on this set up. Just a thought
