I dont really know a lot about oils but i was recommended a 0w50 full synthetic, put it in yesterday and it seems to be running really high oil pressure at normal temps. Will this decrease performance at all? anything else bad/good to come from it?

You are running a heavier grade oil (a 50 weight) that is more viscous than what Nissan recommends, so naturally you will see higher oil pressure readings.
Will
edit: to answer your question, nothing bad will come of using it except decreased fuel economy and power from higher viscous drag on the crank and mechanical pumping losses from dealing with the increased viscosity. The question you should have asked the guy selling it to you, though, is what good will come of using it over a regular 30 weight oil?

0w-40 is the highest most people go.
The real question is why did you throw 0w-50 in on a whim??
it's running at higher pressure because of the higher viscosity. totally worthless for you. will probably decrease fuel economy as well.
try following the owners manual, it hasn't let me down yet.
5w-30 works great. if you want something thicker, 10w-30 is also great.

I'm not sure why anybody would want to run a 10w-30 in the VQ35 -- or a 0w-50. One is more viscous at startup than is needed, while the other, respectively, is more viscous than needed at operating temps.
If you want an oil with a higher viscosity at operating temps, a 0w-40 makes a heck of a lot more sense than a 10w-30, which is the same viscosity as any other 30 wt oil at operating temps, but thicker at startup.
OP: if you want to learn more about oil -- and specifically about oil for the HR -- check out this thread:

that thread is 8 pages long! anyone know what they figured out was the best one to run?

the oil you should use depends mainly on the use of the car...
if you drive around, some spirited drive, couple of 1/4 miles, and autocross.. 0w30 is going to be enough....
IF you track the car... in a warm climate... i go for 5W50 or more...
with 0w30 and 0w40 I have seen going almost with no pressure because you overheat the oil.. (actually at that point an oil cooler is the best investment)

One measure [accurately] the extreme hot IDLE [600 rpm] oil pressure and selects the top number of oil [0-10w X]to exceed minimum [14 psi*] by some number say 6 to = 20psi] so that you still meet 14 psi at 300,000 miles.
