This is a hard thread to answer really! 10 whp gain and your looking for noticeable increase in bottom end and TQ....

I'd have to say a Reflash will net you 10 WHP gain with huge increase in throttle response! But without some supporting Mods to justify the Flash I don't think I can honestly recommend going that route.

Gears will give you the pull you desire!

Seriously, Once you get the Bug to start modding It will only get worse! Best to set some goals and on what budget and go from there.

Slightly modded is an overstatement. K&N doesnt really do much and an exhaust with the stock cats doesnt either. I believe its been proven many times. If you *pulled* him (anything noticable at least) your just a better driver. Or hes a shitty driver. One of the 2.

can't we all just get along.

I think my best bet will be to just get a Uprev dyno tune and keep the stock intake and exhaust and see how much power it gains. I would like to gain power across the entire RPM band vs. at redline. Then probably gears and call it a day.

Getting a tune and gears, should be enough to keep the mod bug off my shoulder for a bit.

All you need are HFC's to make a 10+ HP gain. Go get some of those and be done.

You won't get much with stock stuff from a tune. The tune helps with aftermarket parts only usually. I had my car tuned stock, and it didn't gain that much.

What am I looking at with some HFC and a tune? I would like to keep the car sounding as stock as possible to keep the family happy. So the stock parts with gears should keep me happy for now

That was only with the HFC's and tune with stock intake and exhaust?
