oil catch tank
i jus found out bout oil catch tanks. they sound awesome lol. will the 1000ml with15mm fit into 07 350z? i heard 500ml is the right one though. but im guessing more capacity will give me more clean air n oil. also if ater on dirty oil fills up the oil catch tank then will i hav to fill in the new oil as much as i would throw away the dirty oil? help me out this is really interesting

My friend with an '04 Cobra tried to sell me on doing a catch tank. I calmly reminded him that his car is supercharged, mine is not. I do not have a boosted vehicle, i.e. pressure in the vacuum system that can cause added oil in the intake tract which can lead to other issues.
An oil catch tank captures excess oil that is "blown" through the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) system before it ends up inside your intake manifold. While it will work on NA applications, it really is not necessary for daily driving, because the catch tank is only useful under heavy load conditions.

I think some people put them on their 03 Z's? I think there was something up with the original PCV valve - but since you have an 07' you really don't require one.
Unless you were going to do it for looks, in which case - there are better things to spend money on IMO.

i know what oio catch cans do and i know that its not.necessary for.na motors. its not necessary if i daily drive only but ill b drifting time to time. i wanna keep my engine clean. so now, can anyone tell me if i shuld get 500 or 1000ml? and if i need to put more oil if i get this can?

Ok, sounds like you want it. Don't mean to come off as a d!ck with the pic I posted, I was pretty much set up for it. Also, saying things like "alot of people are getting them" and "they sound awesome" does not give the vibe that you are aware of their function.
That said, if you are staying NA, the 500mL would be plenty. If I looked up the same ones you looked up, it seems there is also a way to view how much oil the can has accumulated, which is good. I suggest 500mL because you will not collect too much oil in them, even while drifting. Also, think about how much 500mL is - a hair shy of a 20oz coke bottle (590mL)
As for adding more oil at the time of install - not needed. The can catches oil - when you see it accumulating oil, add the same amount you have in the catch can. Try to get an idea how much gathers during a week of driving - or after a drifting event - it will give you an idea as to how often you should check the catch can and top off your oil if needed.
Good luck with your choice - if you throw it in there, might as well tell us how it went and how it works

I've made one for my 03 and it catches a lot of dirty oil after just short 300 miles.
I too was curious about the new HR motor designs and if we'd still need one.

just to make sure, so if i were to dump the dirty oil in the can thn i hav to putthe same amount of new oil in the engine right? but i heard keep topping off without draining the system is not good...
