I will probably drive it off the track pretty often. How do you have something that powerful and only drive it once a month or so?

Are you just waiting to drop it in your car?
Motor is in the car and up and running just waiting to test the manifold. The car has made pretty good numbers so far but not where we want to be. I know the factory intake is a limiting factor and hope this new one will help in reaching my goal. I don't want to say to much about the build till we get final numbers, I'm sure there will be a thread on the car when it is done but I will say it has made 570whp on the waste gates wich is about 10psi.

Very nice! We will see what Bobby and Sam decide to do.

Hey gamermodzocom, this is sorta off topic, but do think you could ask your guys to do just a simple measurement of the width on your lower intake. I'm still trying to confirm if your HR intake would fit a VQ40. I understand the HR motor is closer to the vq40, than the DE motor, which I know is too narrow on top. If this new intake would bolt, I might be interested in a possible single TB variation of your intake.

I will see if I can get that for you tomorrow or something. If it is, why not go dual throttle body? Converting this intake to single isn't really an option due to it's design.

I've though about the dual TB's some. It would be really cool on a frontier. Of course if your HR intakes bolt to my Vq40, I might be able to pick up one of your HR stock intakes for reasonable if this custom intake gets into production and many HR guys start buying them up. But, no hurry on the measurements, but if you can come with some, it would be greatly appreciated.

Have you thought about trying to find one at a junk yard just to check fitment? If it doesn't fit you should be able to return it. That would be a quick way to find out.

Not one person has asked the real ultimate question...
With this manifold can I now, finally, take my HR off sweet jumps???

There is actually very few HR intakes out there. DE intakes or motors are very abundant, but I've already established it is about 1" narrow due to the lower block deck height of the DE block. I just checked one of my favorite used part locator. HR lower intake = 1 (in the country), DE lower intake = 63 (in the country). Thats my problem finding good info on it. I don't know yet if I want to tackle this intake swap, but I would like to know if it's even a possibility before I get my hopes up.

Just buy the gaskets for testing port fitment.

Well I think the ports are fine. It's the spread. A HR intake will not fit a DE engine due to its higher deck height. Because it's higher on top, it's also wider. Well the vq40 has the same issue with the DE motor. The DE intake again is too narrow due to block height. I know the vq40 block and heads are very close to design as the HR, closer than the vq35deis too the HR. I think a HR intake will fit a vq40, just cant find a reasonable way to verify it.

The runner shape on the HR is different than the DE. The DE has oval shaped runners and the HR's runners are square'ish.

The gasket idea is a good way to test part of the fitment issue for cheap.

Yea, oddly the S&R manifold isn't symmetrical. I just can't get over that fact. Never noticed till post 332 where they posted the video of the manifold.

Lookin over that kinetix manifold above I don't think it is either.... Nor does it seem this SSR manifold beow is symmetrical. This is driving me crazy.

The sets of runners are offset from each other. If the endtanks were symmetrical, then the point where the runners connect to the endtanks would be different on each side.

Since the runners are offset from each other, the endtanks have to be offset from each other in order to place the runners at the same spot in each endtank.

EDIT: it wont let me indent the numbers using spaces so I used dashes.

Example:

1
---2
3
---4
5
---6

The image of the SSR manifold is a dual throttlebody upgrade manifold for the DE and is not for the HR.

I just realized what you are talking about. The runners from the lower are square and they made round runners to come in to the upper. Not really sure why they did this. Maybe they were just trying to beat S&R? I can't believe their design was flow tested in a CAD program before it was made if they went with round runners on top of square holes.

I noticed the same.

I agree. I just used them for example purposes.
