Someone is working on an intake manifold for us
I just realized what you are talking about. The runners from the lower are square and they made round runners to come in to the upper. Not really sure why they did this. Maybe they were just trying to beat S&R? I can't believe their design was flow tested in a CAD program before it was made if they went with round runners on top of square holes.

The answers to many of your questions, even the square per round hole one can be found in C.F. Taylor’s books “The internal combustion engine in theory and practice” volumes 1 & 2.
In a nut shell the transition from round to square and back again or vice versa will have little or no effect on air flow so long as the transition from one to the other occurs at an angle of less than twenty degrees.

The round runners/tubes shouldn't mate to the square ones as-is; there should be a transition of a sort. So, I assume the 20º is referring to the angle of said transition.
This one is only in 2 dimensions, but can be expanded to 3 dimensions. Please excuse the crude drawing.

Motor is in the car and up and running just waiting to test the manifold. The car has made pretty good numbers so far but not where we want to be. I know the factory intake is a limiting factor and hope this new one will help in reaching my goal. I don't want to say to much about the build till we get final numbers, I'm sure there will be a thread on the car when it is done but I will say it has made 570whp on the waste gates wich is about 10psi.
Hey Nismonian, I am selling the 20" Lowenharts that used to be on my car if you know anyone. See this link https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-tire...-polished.html
Gammer got banned.... Bummer.
However, someone made a thread in his honor. https://my350z.com/forum/vq35hr/4904...-hr-build.html
