New: Clutch, Flywheel, HD CSC, Brake pads & Tires
Howdy all,
So my '08 350z Clutch died at 27k read about that here if you like.
This thread is for part suggestions. I need new Clutch, Flywheel, HD CSC,
Brake pads & Tires
Right now I have test pipes and cat back exhaust, I have no mods in sight
for the near future ($). I'm just looking for something to drive on. That said
I hate the el cheapo wal-mart mentality of buy it cheap and toss it later.
I want safe, solid parts, that wont **** out on the next owner if I sell the
car come summer.
Here are the parts I'm thinking on, I would like input, other suggestions,
reading material, and anything I forgot or am too inexperienced to ask for.
I am trying to make the most informned decision posible.

Clutch
============================================================
I'm leaning towards a Southbend clutch and flywheel as I hear that flywheel
does not produce the "chatter" I always hear about, or maybe it just produces
less of it.

From the limited amount I know It seems the TZR clutch disk may be a good
buy or maybe it's overkill? I like that it sound like a long lasting durable
clutch.

HD CSC By Z-Speed. I don't know of any other aftermarket CSCs. I am open to
hearing about them.

Tires
============================================================
IF I drive my car this winter I'll need new rubbers, also I'll need new tires.
So Ima get Trojen Magnum XLs, but if anyone wants to help me find condoms for
my wheels that would be great.
All tire options are base on OEM wheel sizes as TireRack offers alternate
size witer wheel and tire packages but after following the link I am told
they are unavailable.
Winter tires
Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60
All Seasons
I heard the Kumho is a real good tire from posts I have seen and my friend
has them on his Z.
Kumho Ecsta 4X
OR
Other
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sugestions?
Joe at ZSpeed seems like a nice guy, I like doing business with a person instead of a
company. So if anyone wants to suggest contact people for parts, tires, etc... I am
happy to have that info. I prefer to spend my money with a hard working person at
a small business than with a large company.
P.S. if someone in wisconsin is selling a winter car for cheap post it up.

BTW, you can use Zspeeds *bearing sleeve* with OEM CSC (for a DE style plate)...not as good as HD slave fix but a lot less$$ and you don't have to modify (grind) the housing.
Any after market flywheel will give you some *rattle* (not to be confused with *chatter* of the disc). If you don't mind that, then go with the above mentioned by you. The HD slave is nice especially if you go with aftermarket DE style PP. Personally if/when I replace mine I'll stay with OEM flywheel.

drop weight and maintain a stock like feel and operate without chatter.
The South bend will rattle some...depends on your tolerance for noise. Any single mass piece will transmit more vibration to transmission/gears as opposed to dual mass. I'm not very tolerant and thus not willing to compromise the silky smooth OEM set up.

yeah after looking more it seems it only drops about 7lbs off stock weight so for that I think I will go with more chatter and an even lighter flywheel.

Only the center hub is Exedy, South Bend uses this hub because of a few reasons, It has forged retaining plates, Has long, heavy duty springs (retains smooth take offs) and is just a very good center sprung hub. The linings on this hub (what matters most) are made specifically for South Bend and are one of the best organic linings made.
