Default New here - slightly high idle - CEL

I have searched all over Google and various forums but can't find quite what I'm after...

Everything seems absolutely fine driving, the issue is something like this - as I slow for and approach traffic lights for example, I go down through the gears to 2nd then neutral from about 15mph. The revs seem to drop quickly, however they slowly pick up to around 1600-1700rpm for a second or two, before gently dropping to idle of around 900rpm.

Sometimes the CEL comes on and I notice that the idle stays around 1600rpm until I clear it with a pedal reset.

Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks for your help.

If I had to guess, crank/cam position sensor. Check the CEL code. If so, replace with OEM.
