100% agree … the most stress on any engine component is the split second when it was going up and now it’s going down. And the stresses on the bearings, rod bolts, wrist pins are exponential as revolutions climb linearly.

The stress from a V configuration is higher than any inline or flat engine, hence why they can't often rev higher without issue.
Several inline engines can rev to 8-9k fairly reliable as long as the stroke/bore ratio are good for it.
