yeah it'll come down to the wire of new nissan or new toyota when they finally come out. as much as i love my Z, im not getting rid of it for the new one. 03 to me looks the best no matter the pwr difference. these days specially in NJ can't really go fast anywhere anyway. But Toyota being # 1 in the world will have it's advantages. I also "heard" the Supra will be 1/2 engine 1/2 hybrid (brushless electric motor) So we'll wait to see how both companies combat one another for super street car.

You bring up a great point Dr Venture.

Here in Phoenix (Laveen - where I live) local law enforcement even post out in the neighborhoods and ticket people. You will only get to 'enjoy' the car if you go to PIR on one of the track days.

Other than that, the traffic is so bad, it does not matter how fast you can go 0-60.

No BMW has stated they are going back to lighter weight cars. Dropping the huge, high HP engines. They specifically spoke of the inline 6 as the likely next M3 engine. They will just tune the heck out of it and probally drop about 420 HP out of it....

As you stated, however WHO KNOWS what they will do.
OT but BMW has also stated that they'll kill the v10 in and go with turbo'd v6 in some up coming models..

Whoa, that sucks. I moved from Laveen about 5 months ago and it wasn't that bad at the time...

Do you live in Bogainvillea by any chance? I used to live there and there was a house with a Z on the main street, Cottonfields I believe...

In regards to the topic. I seriously doubt they will make a V8 model. It just doesn't seem to trend with Nissans design.

Nismo 380rs type competition. This car is sold by Nissan as a special edition.''Nismo also presented the racing version Fairlady Z NISMO Type 380RS-Competition (image below). Apart from chipping away a few pounds and revising suspension & brakes, NISMO also fiddled around with Nissan’s 3.5 V6 increasing its capacity to 3.8-litres and interfering with the electronics. The upgraded VQ35HR produces 400Hp and 43,0 kgm of torque.''

It is possible that in celebration for the 350z as a V8 powered Super Gt car from 06 until the GTR's release. There might be a priced accordingly V8 Nismo package along the lines of the 380rs type competition. If it comes out I might be interested in my third Z car. Nissan has a lot of high performance data with the VK45de especially with Z and now with the GTR. VK45DE Z & VQ30DET Z

Yeah.. It is pretty bad now... My wife got a ticket driving through our neighborhood.. It is mostly along the Baseline corridor.

I do not know where Bogainvillea is.... althought it sounds VERY familar... I am 35th ave south of B line across from the lake....

Lets do this simple. The 350 was dubbed the 350 only do to the 3.5 liter engine. so if a new v8 model does in fact come out i dont think they'd call it a 350 z v8...it will prob be a 4.0 or higher. maybe a 450 Z. Also the engine bay and body outfront may have to change to hold the slightly bigger engine as well. Maybe hindering the look of our beloved Z. But you can't take what Nissan uses in race Comps and believe they "might" mass produce it. If only a handful of consumer's will buy it just because they cream over the Z mainly Enthusiasts, it won't be in nissans best interest as far as a money maker to bring out a gas guzzling v8 in todays world of gas wars. Stop looking at it as ("Duuuuude how cool would a v8 Z be maaaan") Look at it in a business point of view. Nissan like any car co. wants to make money not waste it on an idea that it might sell. Gm's doing away with it's V8's, Hummer's going out of biz due to NO SALE's of them BIG gas guzzler's, dodge's dealerships are going out of BIZ due to NO sales of them V8's!

If they do then **** i'll eat my words and debate and i'll send the 1st buyer a 100 gas card on me!!! BP gas only! MAN OF MY WORD!!!

Just like this car Nissan may sell a special edition Z with a V8. Just like Nissan said there maybe a special edition. No I don't think every z will be v8 however it a possibility.

With the way gas is right now i really doubt nissan would release a v8 Z. It would make more sense to release a turbo'd V6 if they want more power.

If you read alot of car review web sites it's pretty much universal now for auto makers to look into more efficient 4 and 6 cylinder turbos then v8's and v10's.

I have been saying the entire time I do not think Nissan will drop a V8...

I kind of would like to see Nissan do the same thing they did to the last Z. Have Nismo parts available (Stage 1 *performance oriented*: aero kit, intake, exhaust, Stage 1 tune, Stage 1 suspension; Stage 2 *track oriented*: Stage 1 plus, Cams, headers, high flow cats, Stage 2 tune, Stage 2 suspension). Maybe the aero kit actually replace the stock body parts, but make them carbon fiber; stage one looks more stocklike, while stage two is a different style..... Maybe have a special Nismo 'emblem' to identify the stages completed; very similar to Dinan and BMWs.....

Then, maybe drop a full on Nismo version after four years or so. If it is in limited quantities, I could see an 8, BUT still think the turbo'd 6 would be better....

factory single turbo VQ37? I'd buy immediately...I only wish Nissan would go this way.
