Installed wider tires on stock rims

So far no problems on/off exit ramps at high speeds am waiting for spring to try out at Putnam Park.

275s will fit on a 17x8" rim, but the tires don't look right. I have a friend with a mustang cobra, and he runs 275 drag radials on a 17x8. There is considerable sidewall buldge, and depending on inflation, the tread might not sit flat.
The tires I mounted are the widest recommended for the stock rims. One can mount wider tires, but you might run into problems.
The camaro SS and firebird WS-6s do come with 17x9s and 275s. The Z28 comes with 8" wheels and 245s.

Per most manufactures (Yokohama, Goodyear, Kumho, ETC.) Min. rim with for a 275/40/17 is a 17X9. one manufacturer said 8.5 but, only one said that the rest were a minimum of 9 inch wheel.
