19" Wheel & Tire Discussion Thread
I used this tool: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp to calculate the fact that from my current setup (oem V.2 track rays 19x10, 18x9 +30) there is a 6mm difference. Which makes me wonder... Is that even really that noticeable. 10 mm in a centimeter. 2.5 centimeters in an inch. Which means it is just under a quarter of an inch difference. Which equates to barely visually noticeable difference.
The question is...
Do I go for a 5mm spacer?
Double up on two 3mm spacers? ( is that even safe?? )
Or an 8mm spacer?
Then I would have a nice full set of flush looking brand new set of Volk GTS Formula Silver with a mildly inagressive rear lip.

GTS come in 19x9.5 +17 and 19x10.5 +18 those are the offsets you want +30 will look sunk and need a 10mm spacer to look anywhere close to flush.
Here are my old GTS with the above specs, the +30 will be sunk 13mm and 12mm more respectively

sarcasm?
Just mount the wheels then decide what YOU think is needed. Tire size will play a role, but a 10mm would probably be the most youd want. Dont stack spacers.

Again, the 6mm I calculated was from OEM wheel setup on my 2006 grand touring, which is probably not 'hella flush' to begin with. I don't exactly have the car sitting next to me at the moment So I can't tell for sure. She's in the shop getting fresh paint. I did however, just look at the stock setup on my 2005 touring and it is sitting like a foot inside the wheel well and it has never really bothered me enough to drop $200 on spacers.
10mm it is... Thanks for the help.
Anybody have a pair they wanna sell?

I've got a 2006 350 base. I want to run a set of rims that will require adapters that will be 1" thick. I've calculated to new dimensions with adjusted offset of the rims with spacers to be:
Front rim: 19x8 offset 21.6
Front tire: 235/35/19
Rear rim: 19x9.5 offset 1.6
Rear tire: 255/35/19
I'm confident that the front will fit with room to spare. My concern is with the rear. Do you think the rear will clear? If not, would it clear with a fender roll?

I don't know why you think I'm not serious...
I'm currently running g35 ray's 19's on the car and there is plenty of clearance. When I run one of those tire calculators, it tells me that I'll be pushing the front tire edge out 9mm and the rear out 45mm. 45 is a LOT!

e46 M3 19" rims with a 1" spacer have a 1.6mm offset in the rear.
<$1000 budget.
The wheels I want are the e46 M3 forged 19" wheels. They are my favorite wheels that are within my budget and requirements. I want forged high quality wheels that are readily available if one is damaged. I can get a set for under $750. Tell me where I can find a set of quality forged 19s for under $1000 and I'm all ears. I'm currently running g35 19" forged Rays but I'm bored of them. Plus, you'll never see another set of e46 M3 19s on a Z.
