I have 6 RPF1s two in 10.5 and four in 9.5 that I switch around, regret not going 10.5 square.

Most tires handle a lot better with a slight stretch. 275/40 feels great on a 10.5 , I tried a few combo's in the past. IMO the best street setup is 9.5 and 10.5 with 255/40 front and 275/40 rear. A more canyon/track setup is the same wheels with 265/35 front and 285/35 rear. Then you venture more to track, 10.5 square with all different tire combo's

Thanks much for the feedback so far.

On a side note, can whomever moved my post to this thread please explain why it belongs here?

To be honest, I don't drive the car that much anymore and when I do it's always nice weather, so I've never really noticed an increased accumulation of dirt/grit in that area, but theoretically yes I could see that happening. I would keep up on waxing and clay barring.

Hey everyone, I could use some help. I just ordered some Volk GTS wheels and I need to find some tires now. Problem is I don't know what size would be best! I'm on stock height at the moment, and I would like to lower in the future..but that will have to wait until I find a different living situation.

Fronts are 19x9.5 +17
Rears are 19x10.5 +18

From what i'm reading, these are ideal -

245/35/19 for the fronts
275/35/19 for the rears

or 255/40/19 fronts and 275/40/19 rears

Whered you read that? Not ideal...however the 35 series setup you posted would be ok. Personally Id go 275/30 295/30.

Edit - At stock height it might look better to do the 245/35 275/35 setup. Less fender gap this way.

255/35 front and 275/35 rear. You will be all set.

Thanks for such quick replies

I'll go with a 255/35 front and 275/35 rear!

LOL!! I had Tire Rack call me after i ordered 255/35 F and 275/35 R to tell me the tires are not to spec, told him to just send them to me.

Simple and easy fitment. I could see them telling me that 285/35-18 won't fit up front like discount told me. That is not really possible with a street camber setup, but simple with my race setup

Typically not, in a pinch 245/35 or 255/35 work and 275/35 and 285/35 work. Most places can get the tires in 1 to 3 days

Terra,

Based off your suggestions.

I would be cool with 245/40/19 on a front wheel that's 19x8.5 +20 and 275/35/19 on a 19x9.5 +25?

This crap is getting a little confusing with so many people and companies telling me different things.

also I don't want the stretched tire look.

Nope, unless you have a 370Z.

With a 275/35 rear, you need a 245/35 or 255/35 front. 255/35 is prefurred.

do 245/35 and 275/35. no need to put a taller tire in the front.

Based off these specs Terra you would be right it would be better to go with a 255/35/19 F and 275/35/19 R set up.

245/45/18 vs 275/35/19
26.68 (677.7) 26.58 (675.1)

225/45/18 vs 255/35/19
25.97 (659.7) 26.03 (661.1)

225/45/18 vs 245/35/19
25.97 (659.7) 25.75 (654.1)

Actually the % stagger (ratio diam F/R) is CLOSER to stock set up with 245/35F and 275/35R vs 255/35F. Both choices for the fronts are fine though. On 8.5s I would choose the 245 over the slightly "pinched" 255. That's what I have on mine.

Those are the same wheels (CSL 5.5's) I have except mine are the matte black spokes/gloss black lip... offsets are +15 front and +20 rear... you need wider tires lol

Looks good though!
