Saying 245/35 is the best for fronts just adds to the thousands of posts which say the same thing.

My specific question after having destroyed a 19" rim running a 245/35 tire on the front of a 350z was if anyone else has upped their fronts to the higher profile 245/40. Given 245/40 is OEM for the 370z, it's plausible that this combination will allow driving on **** pock marked road surfaces without damaging components.
If you wanted to use 245/40/19, that's fine as long as you use a rear that is the proper size. A bit taller than stock is fine, I had 265/40/18 and 285/40/18 which were considered to be taller than the norm.
Theoretically bigger tires absorb more shock so the 245/40 may be better for the bad roads that you have.
What kind of rears are you using?

EDIT: Yeah the 245/40 would go well with 285/35

Sell stockers and buy a set of cheap 18x10.5 wheels (RPF1s) with R compound tires for the track. 19s for show or DD, 17s-18s for go.

Hey i have a 2005 G35 and i was planning on getting Varrstoen es221 (19x9.5 +12 front 19x10.5 +15 rear) and i wanna do 245/40/19 front and 285/35/19 rear (conti xtremecontact dws) i was wondering if that would be a good fit? (I also plan on getting akebono bbk) and if not what do i need to make it fit? I was thinking i might have to do 245/35/19 front or maybe different offsets

You will want the 245/35 or 255/35 front tire, actually if your running a 285 rear you want a 255 front minimum

Does anyone know if this setup will fit 350Z w/o Brembos? Anyone have these?

Avant Garde M550
F 19x9.5 +20 235/35/19
R 19x11 +18 275/30/19

Not sure of the offset on these, but they are:

"Front wheels 19x9.5 with a 245/35/19 tire and rear 19x11 with a 275/35/19 tire"

Default tire question for 19x9.5/10.5

hey guys
i currently run on 19x9.5 front and 19x10.5 rear with +22 offset for both
i am looking to get right tires for my wheel. previous owner stretched so im running stretched but looking to get the right tires for them.
im thinking about lowering springs with about 1inch drop front and back.
from my research i have found 255 35 19 for front and 285 35 19 for back.
would this be my only option with clearance? or can i run little bit fatter?

thanks for your help and time

You have a great wheel offset to run wide tires. 305/30-19 rears are easily possible and 275/30-19 front are also easily done.

I'm currently running 255/35 and 285/35 on 19x9.5/10.5 +12 wheels. They're nice but if I had the +22s, I would prefer fatter tires like terrasmak suggested.

Sorry to threadjack, but a very similar question. I just bought nismo 370z wheels. 19x9.5 +40, 19x10.5 +23 i believe. I actually already got a set of tires on there. 245/35 and 275/35. Got a good deal on them. But do you guys think I could have done differently?

Default fitment?

Looking at 19x10.75 +15 in rear and 19x10.75 +35 fronts... flush/poke/tuck? Rolled fenders in rear little pull, front not rolled. Thoughts...

will not fit, , a minimum of 15mm spacer will be needed up front.

I had 19x9.5 +12 with 245/35/19's and it fit without a problem. I don't see how .5" and a weak offset won't fit.

I think he's saying it'll hit the knuckle, not the fender. For example 370z rays (19x9 +47) hit the knuckle bad and needed a spacer.

^WHAT SIZE!!?!?!?! Just put on 370z nismo wheels (19x9.5 +40 front with 245/35) and now I need front spacers because they rub on the arm really bad. Like straight line driving and rubbing bad.
