No problem. Just make sure the rears are commensurately taller to maintain same (or close) percentage stagger. 255/45 rear works on those wheels fine. (But even that's not necessary as evidenced by so many people running square.)

Mic while youre here, i have to ask, i was always taught that sqaure set up are best. Is there a reason youre advicing a stagger set up? I though 245 around wouldve been good.

Factory set the car's F/R suspension balance for tendency to understeer to avoid product liability issues. "Problem" with going to square by upping front tire contact patch to match rear is you've now equalized slip angles of the front and rear tires. Because the Z suspension geometry is set up as such, rear slippage will be more prevalent because the rear tires now reach maximum slip angle before the front, hence oversteer.

Note I didn't say this was bad or unsafe. This can be good for an experienced driver who knows how to utilize this trait to their advantage. Conversely, a novice driver who's used to his/her car as it was (staggered) could conceivably get into trouble with snap oversteer if pushed before getting used to the new handling characteristic.

And, this can EASILY be mitigated (or "tuned") in this case through suspension modification, e.g., sway bar tuning, alignment compensation, etc.

So, all things equal, I maintain that stagger is good until you dial in a little extra roll stiffness and a bit of camber to compensate.

Ah ok, thats what i suspected. But wasnt 100% sure. I was alway taught that on rwd cars, stagger is better for the average driver, but square is usually best if you know how to handle it.

I dont get how everyone can run a square set-up without their slip lights coming in around every corner... What am I missing? My slip light came on with factory sized tires 50% tread front brand new in the back. Granted I was on a sharp curve but I wasn't slipping.

Base model is the way to go, I would really miss my heated leather seats but everything else is just a pain in the ***.

I love when **** gets moved and you get all confused when you find your posts. It's like a bonus thread to look through.

Not even close, you can run 10mm less offset and clear the front arm.

So you would need a 10 mm. And with 18x10 +20 watch your fenders. I'm basically touching with 18x10.5 +22 and a 285/35

Default Best tire size for 18x10.5 and 18x9.5?

I've been getting different reviews about tire sizes. Can anyone advise which tire size would best for 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 wheels? I'm looking for something that will help give my car a good stance with rears noticeably wider, when I lower it about a inch and a half.
