I run a 18x10.5 +22 all around with 285/35 and it's lightly touching the front control arm. I also run -3 in the front. Anything less and I'd be hitting fenders. Also running a 10 mill spacer in the back to help even out the aggressiveness in the front

For my track set up I'm thinking 18x9.5 with a 265 or 275 all around on some Enkei wheels to avoid all chances of rubbing at the track

How low are you and whats the offset on the 18x9.5? Im running 18x9.5+22 square. 275/35 all the way around and its good for me. The back could use more spacing for flush look, but its not too bad.

I have not bought them yet. I'm thinking around the 22 ish offset

For track wheels I don't care to be as flush. Just need to fit the meat with no issues under load

22 ish will be good. I had a 120lb passenger with a full gas tank and i didnt rub under load at all. But then again my suspension isnt the same as yours. But with 18s and 22 you shouldnt have a problem unless youre slammed like crazy.

That's the thing. My car is low in guess. Not to me but I guess in general

People run my same street set up without a problem and I'm struggling with them. I want to raise the car but the coils it came with are maxed height wise. I plan on upgrading to FA eventually. But that's after a clutch job and that's not for a while lol

Add preload to the spring , that will easily raise it. Post pics of your suspension setup , so I can be clear

It's nt my first car or first coil over set up. It's maxed out, adding preload will not let the coils do their j ok b and make the ride bouncy. They are top speed coils so can't expect much lol

I will get 510s eventually

We shall see how these coils fend at Fontana Speedway in November. Just need a helmet first

Adding preload to a specific rate spring does nothing to the rate , will just raise the car. Most people really don't know how to adjust coilovers, including shops.

If coil over companies are telling me "only X turns of preload" I'll just stick to what they say. It's not that big of a deal. I clear fenders fine. Km Just Not Too Sure At the track but I Think I'll Be fine

Yes, companies that are selling cheap China coilovers say that. Then the high end companies don't say that. With my coilovers there is only 1 way to adjust ride height , that is with preload.

The high end companies use preload to adjust height , low end companies say to set preload a certain way and use body length to set height. Who is correct ?

Set suspension travel with the shock body length, set your height with preload. Be one of the faster cars on track and have a better ride on the street

HRmoneypit. I would listen to terra if i were you. He's very knowledgeable. Awhile back i question hos aerodynamic knowledge and after speaking to a professional well trained technician with a few degree, terra was spot on and 100% correct.

I dont think i got a chance to apologize to him for that, and terra im sorry about that.

Your coming to the Nissan meet in November no? I'm going to need your knowledge at my first track day.

I want to test your theory but I literally just got my car aligned this past weekend. I don't want to spend more on aligning it after taking off the strut and trying to add pre-load

Good discussions are always good. Aerodynamics are part theory , and theory does not always work , so I can be wrong at times, event the pro's can be. Regardless, a discussion on aero or suspension tuning is a good way for everyone to learn. No need to apologize, especially when kept civil .

As long as my car survives a 2 day event at the end of Oct , I will be there. You can even request me as an instructor, I'm quite positive they will let me instruct that weekend.
