I have 285/35 on 18x10.5 +15 rear wheels that sits pretty flush to the fenders while the fatter tires fill up the wheel well nicely. IMO spacers would make yours look better since your fronts have a slight poke while the rears with the more narrow tires make it look tucked in a bit.

Just got a new set of shoes for the Z installed today! What a difference a lightweight wheel/tire combo makes...

Optimal Tire Size
Looking at getting some 18x9.5 +20 fronts and 18x10.5 +20 rears soon. After looking all over the place about wheel and tire fitment I feel a little overwhelmed with all he different answers I've seen. I have an 08 on stock suspension. Wanting to keep the diameters close to stock to limit any problems with VDC etc. From what I can gather 255/40 fronts and 275/40 rears should be the best tire size to avoid any issues or rubbing, does this seem correct?

275 is ideal fit but you can go to a 285 if you wish. The + 0.3" isn't all that significant (meaning will not throw off VDC) when paired with 255 fronts, Also, good luck finding 285/40-18s. Last time I looked a couple years ago, tire selection in that size is about 5% of 275 sizes. Might be different now but I doubt it..... tire availability tends to go DOWN, not up in these sizes.
I posted pics for a guy who asked for size comparo (then never came back) - so if you want to see the difference between 275 and 285, go here: https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-and-...l#post11039708
Hint: You won't SEE a difference. Honestly, the performance (extended hill runs, no track) differences are nil. Pyrometer tells that story. The weight difference to me keeps me on 275s going forward.

Anyone in here running 285/40/18?
Going for a slightly meaty sidewall, not sure how tall it'll look on our cars. Pilot Sport 4s is available in this size so that'll be my choice. Hoping to get some pics to know if it's too thick or not.

I run 18x10.5 +20 in the front, & 20x11 +15 rear, with 285/35'z all around, no spacers rolled fenders & quarters. Lowered on coilovers

If you scroll up you'll see my car with these wheels when I first bought em. They were 18x10.5 squared, & the quarters swallowed up those 18'z, so I went to 20x11 in the rear, & the fitment is so much better. I'll use the 18'z as drift spares, or drag set up. I love the look.
