ok thanks I was going to 255/40r18 front 275/40r18 rear its sad I wanted volk te37 but cant afford them because I just bought a house. and I need wheels i smahed mine last year in a pot hole. so i'm getting some rota grids. wanted to be sure of the size.

no I did from aspec wheel but they screwed me around so I asked for a refund. never do business with them

Yu can, but then you can but its not available it would be +10. Then if you end up running a square tire setup in the future you will not be able to rotate unless you dismount tires.

 

I had an 04 z, and had alot of fun with it. Used nitto drag/street radials on stock 17" wheels.

Now I have an 08. I needed 17" wheels to be able to run M/T drag radials. I got a great deal on 5Zigen ZR=520 wheels. Because everybody at that time was hung up on 19"/20" wheels, the 17" were discounted. My car looked pretty good with those 17" wheels & 275/40/17 tires. You can check the pic section here. It hadled great, with a smooth ride. Those wheels are not the lightest, but they are a bit lighter than stock and they are STRONG AS HELL. Now I have them on my 95 240sx. Also remember that going to a larger wheel/tire, slows down accelaration.

 

I am aware of that. thats why I'm going with 18 again plus i want the space for a bbk later on. I like the advan rg2 also but 3000 for a cast wheel what are they smoking if you ask me no better then rota if i pay tha tkinda of money i want a forged wheel.

 

I'm not against spacers, but you can get a slightly different off-set, & look just fine.

I DON"T use spacers because, why bother, my car looks fine & I don't need an additional risk, no matter how small, when I want to have fun/do some serious driving.....

A good dealer will help you with that. From memory, I think off set of +20 to +35 is what I have.

I think, unless it's a show car, or you have plenty of $$$$, spending 3k for wheels is crazy.

I paid $180 per wheel for a $340 wheel. Money is not a problem with me. I tip strippers with $10 bills while everyone else uses dollars

Alot of wheels are expensive because of hype.

Try some big distributers, like discount tire & others. Their computers are all set to give you the right fitment & will back it up with money back if a mistake is made.

 

haha well put. Ya the only reason I like the idea of those other wheels is weight i don't want my car to suffer in handling. And I have to say appeal wise its always the most expensive ones that look the best i like the lmgt4 the most but are impossible to get now

Hey guys, just looking for some help. I currently have 19" Volk SF Challenge with Stop Tech BBK. Love the look of the wheels but interested in going with 18's for better performance and more tire options.....specifically would like to run R888's.

Will the 18" Volk SF Challenge clear the BBK?

Just go with RPF1's and call it a day.

 

Don't see many Zs slammed on 18s. I personally like 18s more, we can go lower without having to go insane on camber

Hey everyone.

looking to run 18x9.5 +12 all round on heavy *** Varrsetoen CE reps.

I'm not looking to go too wide as these are going to be winter beaters and I heard that slimmer is better for winter traction.

Unfortunately 9.5 is the slimmest they carry.

I'm looking for a reliable set up that won't trip VDC or be unreliable like crazy stretch.

Thinking of either:
18/45/225, 18/40/245
18/45/235, 18/45/255

Wheel diameter has nothing to do with camber settings. Your wheel offset and ride height for that specific suspension geometry is what determines how much camber you'd need to force that look onto your car.

 

Common since and hella flush don't go along. I just smile and nod when I see one of there cars, or point and laugh.

 

uhh you do have insane camber too..........

 

I've ordered the Rota Grid 18x9.5 +20's and Bridgestone RE-11's F265/40/18 and R275/40/18.

i wanted to get 245's for the front but they were sold out of the RE-11's in that size. So i thought i would get RS-3's but they're backorded until the end of April so I thought I'd give the 265's up front a chance.

My 2 questions are....
1. Will this setup look ok?
2. Can someone double check my calculations on the 3% rule. I have VDC. I checked the offsets calculators myself and believe I'm find but would appreciate some re-assurance.
