I've decided to go with 18x10's +15 all around with 265/35 up front and 285/35 out back. Hopefully it turns out ok

 

Suggested tire sizes for 18x10+10 and 18x11+11? I'm on coilovers and will be sitting quite low, my guards also haven't been rolled but I'm guessing I'll need to change that. 255/35/18 and 285/35/18 is what I'm thinking.

Tire calculators are telling me I've messed up, but I did the maths myself from the numbers on Nitto's site and it seems to work?

Everywhere says 245/40-18 and 275/35-18 will set VDC off, and it appears tire calcs say the same (front is taller). But according to Nitto's numbers on their site the rear will be taller and give me a 0.15% difference between rear and front.

Might start out OK and then change as the rears wear down and the front does become taller?

Now I might just put the 275 on the front and go 295 in the rear like originally planned.

 

It's odd how the top 100 questions and most of the cars in this thread will mention 275/40 rear with a 245/40 or 255/40 front. They may be on the right track.

 

255/35-18 is never a good size front, at least step up to a 265/35 front

 

Lol been here a long time, so please don't treat me like a noob.

I'm gonna see if it works, because the numbers show that they will. I'm not asking permission, I'm asking to step away from the online calculator and look at the actual specs of these specific tires.

If not, guess I'll put the 275 on the front. I'm not putting a 275/40 on the rear... as previously discussed my feelings of how it looks.

 

I've been running 245/40 and 275/40 for many years for autoxing and road courses w/o any issues. Now the issue is what brand tire you use. I'm running with Sumitomo HTR III's now and love them.

 

This is a 245/40 and 275/35 setup.

Tires are Nitto NT05

Ignoring the online calculators which tell you the setup won't work and looking at the numbers from Nitto's site:

The front diameter is 65.0 cm
The front circumference is 204.3 cm
The rear diameter is 65.1 cm
The rear circumference is 204.5 cm

Although not a big difference, I'm just wondering if it's enough to keep VDC happy. If not, its not a huge deal... tires can be swapped around pretty easy. But these are what I have and might as well run with it.

 

i run the 275/40 and 255/40 combo... no issues for me

 

I'd rather go 295/35 in the rear and throw the 275/35 up front. 275/40 is a full inch taller than what I'm running with the current 275/35. I just don't think it would look right on my wheels, but some can pull them off nicely.

Lol, I'm just gonna find out how it runs and report back. If they need switching up then I hope the 295's are here before the next meet up.

No VDC issues so far just driving around the apartment. Hoping to get to drive it down the street here shortly...

Thanks! So far no VDC issues with the 245/40 front and 275/35 rear... but only drove it slowly around neighborhood streets.

 

You probably won't have any issues until you push the car a bit, like doing an emergency maneuver or something. The wheels alone look cool but I'm not so sure on the G. BTW, what did you do to your exhaust?

Exhaust is left over from the Gram Light days. I just haven't gotten around to unbolting the extension. Car sat on jack stands for 5 months. I was eager to get the wheels on and drive it around a bit I'm still relatively new to Fort Worth, Tx so I need to find a reputable muffler shop to weld me just a regular pipe on there.

 

fort worth, i used to be a paramedic for MedStar over there many years ago. we are going to put together a meet for the weekend of the 15th in grapevine.. check the meet section for details in the next couple days. there is a shop over there called Texas Track Works, look em up.... think they do exhaust
